Every time we eat, we are feeding trillions and trillions of bacteria in our gut. There are times despite eating and doing what we fee is the right stuff we still feel bloated. The fact is that sometimes we do not know what is the right stuff for our body. Because there is so much internet has to say and ultimately, can confuse us to the core. Literally.
Some say fiber is good for the gut, some say fermented food is good for the gut, some say cardio is great for the gut as well.
But when you are facing bloating issues you really need to think what to eat, what not to eat. More than what you eat one should understand what not to eat and what not to do.

❌Avoid too much cardio, avoid too many supplements, Avoid unnecessary food gaps, Avoid juice diets, And please avoid unnecessary greens.

✅Instead be easy on your gut, be easy on your system, eat cooked meals, eat less fiber, Don’t give too much gap between your meals, Make sure you activate vahin nerve before you sit to eat by doing a few deep breaths, And try to relax your nervous system.

HOW TO TACKLE ADRENAL FATIGUE: A condition where you perpetually feel exhausted, lazy, demotivated, depressed and even find it hard to get a good nights sleep. Your adrenal gland is over worked and exhausted. It is unable to cope up with any more stress and can not produce cortisol.

How doe we fix adrenal fatigue:

1. Be conscious to what you are eating. Eat within an hour of waking up ti maintain healthy blood sugar levels. Do not eat processed food or foods rich in artificial sugars.

2. NO INTENSE WORKOUTS. Opt for mild ti low intensity training regime. Yoga, walks, simple cardio can help with adrenal recovery.

3. Get some fresh air and soak yourself in the morning sun. Nature helps de stress the body naturally. Sitting for your breathing exercises in the morning and evening will help with more oxygen supply to yeh brain and other parts and speed up the recovery of adrenal gland.

4. Right vitamins and minerals: Like B5, B6, B12, Magnesium, Zinc. They are so important to balance hormones and reverse symptoms of adrenal fatigue in the body.

5. Get enough sleep. Lack of sleep is a major stressor on the body if you’re not getting enough sleep your cortisol levels will rise and your adrenal gland will have to overwork. Ample sleep and sleeping at the right time will reduce cortisol levels and stabilize your adrenal gland.

In simple terms, eat well and eat regular meals, no processed a foods, include good protein and colorful fruits and veggies, meditate, relax, indulge in something you love and see how you amp yourself good hormones up.

1✨Licorice tea: Use either the root or tea spoon powder and brew it in 300ml-500ml of water. Brew the tea for 3-4 minutes. Let it cool and enjoy it during the day.
2✨Amalaki or amla has tremendous benefits. Richest source of Vit. C. Great for skin, hair and overall health. Boosts collagen production.
3✨Castor Oil: Your favorite eye remedy. Let that tiredness ward off, let that puffiness and dark circles vanish 🪄

FLU AND STOMACH BUGS are so common in this season.
And everyone I hear is catching a stomach infection, including myself.
But, I am not a huge fan of antibiotics. And I try sticking to natural herbs and potions which can ward off the infection.
Here are my absolute favorites:

✨Garlic: Had insulin, a functional fiber that is great for good gut bacteria. Gut bacteria need fuel and garlic provides that fuel.
✨OREGANO OIL: or Oregano as a herb, fresh or dried, it’s magic whenever you face cramps or stomach pain. Has also the ability to kick off bad bacteria.
✨Ginger and rock salt: Age old remedy that works for everyone.

So, avoid the antibiotics as much as you can. Take them only if it’s urgent. Popping pills on a little something isn’t a great idea. Let the body learn to fight and get back to its original state.

No, it isn’t. Salt helps with

Monsoon is the time of infection.
Food poisoning is common, diarrhea, nausea, stomach aches because of careless eating is so common during this time of the year.
And mature, of course, has provided us with all the magical herbs and spices to keep us healthy and glowing.
My favorite herbs during monsoon to keep the gut in good health are:
1. Aloe Vera
2. Carom seeds or ajwain
3. Oregano or oregano oil
4. Ginger
5. Licorice root (Make licorice root water and sip it through the day)
Also, ensure you are hydrating well and not indulging in fast foods.

A disease when ignored, or not cured or not identified in the right time frame, is a stressor for the body and eventually the mind. The dis-ease the did-comfort when lingers for long can lead to inflammation and eventually chronic inflammation. Our bodies keep fighting it back. But this constant battle is an extreme stressor for the cells, tissues, organs. Our bodies like some stress- which we call Eustress or good stress which is slow, gradual and in a positive direction. Eg when we work out, our muscles burn and eventually when we eat right and rest they regain strength. When we learn something new that’s a healthy mental stress. But, persistent wrong stressors eventually start impacting the body, eventually reaching the surface where we feel them as pain in the joints, gut and inflammation of the brain too.

REMINDER:
If you want to fix your gut, we need to understand that the digestive process begins in the mouth, not the stomach.
Chewing is the first and foremost way to start feeling better in your gut. Only partial breakdown of food happens in your stomach.
A clean pallet or a clean tongue 👅 in the morning is also a significant indicator of how your gut health is. The whitish tongue is a sign of gut and hormonal imbalances.
ORAL HYGIENE like Oil pull & chewing well for better saliva production and food breakdown are simple ways amongst others to maintain a better gut hygiene too.
Other ways, of course, involve eating:

✨Varied colored foods
✨Seasonal foods
✨Seed and nut oils
✨Consuming both fat and water soluble vitamin rich foods
✨No processed foods

I keep saying your wellness journey is not a sprint, it’s a marathon. Don’t burn out early. The better you pace, the longer you can last.

✨Should we completely get off PHYTIC ACID or anti nutrient rich foods?
✨The answer is NO.
✨Limit the consumption of beans if you are struggling with osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis as it will hinder with calcium absorption. If you have anemia, then again do not eat Iron rich foods with beans and legumes. Eat them in separate meal.
If you are an athlete but your muscles don’t recover well, certainly anti nutrients have a role to play in your nutrition malabsorption. Check how and what are you eating in your meals. Is your gut healthy?
Do not over consume soy. Soy is a legume like any other and should be cooked once a week or in 10 days. Everyday consumption of soy is not recommended.
Eat a balanced diet which is a combination of greens, crunchy vegetables, starchy & non starchy carbs, good fats and proteins. Wait, don’t forget to add the flavor enhancing herbs like oregano, onion, shallots, ginger, garlic sand you know there are so many.
