I add on half an hour in life daily while travelling

One must get used to long hours of commute living in a city like Delhi.

I spend almost 2-3 hours in commute while going and coming back from the clinic.

On usual days, I utilize this time to tune into podcasts and learn from it.

But during festivals, I spend this time in the metro to call my friends and family and give them the seasons greetings.

Living in a fast and dynamic world, we have become so dependent on technology that we don't even wish an individual personally. Instead, we forward them a WhatsApp message without even reading it.

I believe it's important to take out time from your everyday life and spend it on the people who matter.

Be it your friends, family, or colleagues, building connections never goes to waste.

So this is your gentle reminder to take out time for your loved ones this Diwali and wish them not with a message but with your heart!

Doctors love people cleaning their homes during Diwali

Yes, for hygiene reasons but also because, as a Physiotherapist, I get more patients after that.

Let me be clear: it's not that I'm proud of it. But I've seen a drastic increase in patients coming in after they clean their houses during Diwali.

Mainly because we Indians have a habit of doing everything ourselves and without a break.

And when we do do, our body doesn't accept it well because it's not used to it.

This is the most common between women.

Hence, I advise all my patients and everyone around me to participate in 'Diwali ki Safaai' but with caution.

Take breaks when required, don't do it alone and take help, and don't exert your body more than it can handle.

Diwali is around the corner, so it's important we take care of our health for an enjoyable festive celebration.

The hustle culture today has forced people to often hide their pain. Be it mental or physical, we're all facing something.

However, most of them don’t speak up until it becomes unbearable.

This is an issue I see in my patients quite often.

I always suggest they and everyone else to open up and speak with their close ones.

You never know how sharing something even small can make a big difference.

Absolutely!

Poor sleep habits can impact both your health and overall well-being, even if you're getting the recommended hours of rest.

One of my patients, a high-performing professional, often felt exhausted despite sleeping 8 hours every night.

He was always tired, his productivity dropped, and he felt sleepy throughout the day.

He couldn’t figure out why.
After analyzing his sleep patterns, I discovered that his late-night work habits and sleep schedule had disrupted his natural circadian rhythm.

Most people usually overlook the essentials when setting up their desks.

However, poor ergonomics can lead to chronic pain, decreased productivity, and long-term health issues.

So, take a quick 5-minute setup check to get back on track:

1. Is your monitor at eye level?
2. Are your frequently used items nearby?
3. Does your chair have good lumbar support?
4. Are your keyboard and mouse within your reach?
5. Does your feet fall flat on the floor, or do you need a footrest?

These small but important habits can greatly improve your comfort and productivity.

Is losing weight becoming the new cool?

Losing weight is not always an easy task.
According to the WHO, 1 in 8 people suffers from obesity, and 23% of women & 22.1% of men in India are overweight.

However, following weight loss stories from celebrities such as Karan Johar, Elon Musk, and Tanmay Bhatt, there has been a surge in discussions about drugs such as 𝐎𝐳𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐜 and 𝐖𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐯𝐲 (especially after Elon Musk confirmed his use of Ozempic).

- So, what are these drugs?

These drugs mimic a hormone that reduces hunger and slows digestion, helping people feel fuller for longer.

In a study, people lost 14–22% of their body weight.

However, these drugs aren’t for everyone. They’re mainly for people with obesity or those with certain health conditions, and they aren’t yet approved for weight loss in India.
Side effects can include nausea, headaches, and fatigue.

I recommend starting with lifestyle changes first.

If you do consider these drugs in the future, consult a specialist to ensure it’s the right choice for you.

Don't blindly follow the trends because you don't always see the full picture.
