Struggling to get enough milk while pumping?
Breast compressions can increase output by up to 49%. A secure pump seal + steady squeezes behind the breast help milk flow better and faster.

Many mothers feel a sudden wave of sadness or anxiety right before their milk lets down — and many assume it means something is wrong with them.
But that confusing emotional drop has a name, and it has nothing to do with your love for your baby.

D-MER is a hormonal reflex that can catch mothers off-guard, creating a brief but intense feeling of dread, irritability, or a hollow drop in your chest during nursing or pumping. These sensations are real, they’re temporary, and most importantly — you’re not alone.

Understanding what D-MER is (and what it isn’t) can make breastfeeding feel far less scary and much more manageable.

Swipe through this carousel to learn what D-MER feels like, how it differs from postpartum mood disorders, and ways to support yourself through it.

👉 Save this post for your breastfeeding journey.

Cluster feeding during growth spurts?
Very normal. 💛
Babies often feed more frequently for a few days — sometimes day and night — especially during a growth spurt. And yes, feeding on demand is exactly what you should be doing.
But here’s something important to remember 👇
Growth spurts usually last a few days.
If your baby is feeding constantly for more than a week — especially around the clock — it’s worth checking in with a lactation consultant.
It could be:
• A latch concern
• Milk transfer issue
• Supply adjustment
• Or simply something that needs gentle guidance
Sometimes, the right support makes feeding feel easier and more manageable for both of you. 💛

What do you see when a mother feeds her baby in public?
Before you answer, pause.
This moment isn’t about discomfort or judgment — it’s simply a baby’s basic need being met.
It’s care, it’s comfort, it’s connection.

If something so natural feels “awkward,” that’s our own discomfort to unpack — not hers to carry.

Normalize the natural.
A baby eats. A mother nourishes.
If that bothers someone, it’s the perspective that needs adjusting, not the mom.

Let’s support mothers who show up for their babies anywhere, anytime.
Let’s make nurturing visible, not shameful.
Let’s choose empathy over opinions.
