Beyond Conventional CABG: Managing Diffuse Coronary Disease

A patient from Cachar, Assam presented with diffuse, heavily calcified coronary artery disease, where routine bypass grafting alone would not achieve adequate revascularization.

In this high-risk setting, we performed CABG with Coronary Endarterectomy—a technically demanding procedure involving removal of atherosclerotic plaque to restore the arterial lumen and enable effective grafting.

The extracted specimen highlights the extent of disease burden, often underestimated on imaging.
