We condemn the cowardly attacks on the chief advisor of the Association of Registered Pharmacists, Assam (ARPA ). We strongly urge the Assam Police to take immediate action, investigate this matter thoroughly, and ensure justice is served in accordance with the law.

We Strongly Condemn the Brutal Attack on our ARPA Chief Advisor

We express our deep outrage and strong condemnation of the brutal and cowardly attack on our ARPA Chief Advisor, Mr. Sofiur Rahman Khan, carried out by a mob led by a fake pharmacist at SP MEDICOS, Jakhalabanda, Assam.

Sofiur Rahman Khan has always been a vocal and dedicated advocate for uplifting the dignity, ethics, and professionalism of the pharmacy field. Such an attack on a respected leader of the profession is not just an assault on an individual, but an assault on the entire pharmacy community and its core values.

What is even more shocking and unacceptable is that a person without legitimate credentials took the law into his own hands, conducting an unauthorized inspection in a retail pharmacy while impersonating a Drug Inspector. This is a serious violation of legal norms and a direct insult to our regulatory institutions.

We urge the Assam Police and all concerned authorities to take strict and immediate legal action against all those involved in this unlawful, unethical, and disgraceful act.

We stand firmly united with Mr. Sofiur Rahman Khan and reaffirm our commitment to safeguarding the honour, safety, and legal sanctity of every genuine pharmacist across the state of Assam

After a request for a meeting honble health minister office invited Team Association of Registered Pharmacists Assam (ARPA) to met Hon’ble Health Minister Shri Ashok Singhal sir to discuss key issues affecting the pharmacy sector in Assam. We sincerely appreciate his time and commitment to healthcare reforms.

We have submitted memorandum with the following Key points for his consideration.

✅ Curbing Corruption in Registration – Addressing delays and unethical practices in registering new pharmacy graduates.

✅ Internship Approvals – Seeking streamlined permissions for students to complete mandatory training.

✅ Crackdown on Illegal Drug Trade – Requesting strict action against unlicensed premises and wholesalers selling at retail without pharmacists.

✅ More Pharmacist Posts in Health Institutions – Advocating for increased recruitment in hospitals and healthcare centers.

✅ Special Roles for Pharm.D Graduates – Proposing dedicated positions in clinical pharmacy and drug therapy management under NHM.
