I came to Chennai for a kidney and liver transplant, which will cost approximately 38 lakhs, including pre-transplant evaluation but excluding stay and food expenses.
I was pleasantly surprised to learn about an NGO in Chennai called the Tanker Foundation Foundation, which I discovered through a friend. Not only did they respond to my email immediately, but they also explained that they would provide ₹10,000 for my transplant and post-transplant medications. I am very happy with their support and service.
However, my experience with NGOs in Assam has been disappointing. Despite emailing and calling several organizations, most either denied help or didn't respond at all. Here are some examples:
1. Marwari Yuva Manch (Guwahati): When I was admitted to Apollo Guwahati and urgently needed blood, my mother sought their help, but they never responded or assisted.

2. Karunadhara Trust: Despite several emails, I received no response.
3. Lions Club: When contacted by phone, they directly refused to help.

4. Bir Lachit Sena: Initially, they promised to promote my cause, but they later ignored me.

5. Ex Mrs. India (the celebrity lol): She responded to me on Instagram but lied about sharing my cause. When asked to contribute even a minimal amount, she refused, citing her son's wedding expenses as the reason. She claimed she is too poor and couldn’t afford even ₹1,000—quite ironic.
This disparity in responses highlights the difference in commitment and empathy between organizations and individuals.
