Hair loss, also known as alopecia, can occur due to a variety of reasons and affects both men and women. Here's an overview of common causes, types, and potential treatments:

Common Causes

1) Genetic Factors

Androgenetic alopecia (male or female pattern baldness) is the most common cause, linked to genetics and hormonal changes.

2) Hormonal Changes

Pregnancy, menopause, thyroid disorders, or hormonal imbalances can contribute to hair loss.

3) Medical Conditions

Scalp infections (like ringworm), autoimmune diseases (such as alopecia areata), and certain illnesses can lead to hair loss.

4) Nutritional Deficiencies

A lack of vitamins and minerals like iron, zinc, and biotin can weaken hair.

5) Stress

Physical or emotional stress can trigger temporary hair loss, known as telogen effluvium.

6) Medications and Treatments

Certain drugs (e.g., chemotherapy, antidepressants) and treatments can result in hair loss.

7) Hairstyles and Hair Products

Tight hairstyles, chemical treatments, or overuse of heat tools can cause traction alopecia or hair damage.

Types of Hair Loss

1)Androgenetic Alopecia

Gradual thinning or receding hairline (common in men and women).

2) Alopecia Areata

Sudden patchy hair loss due to an autoimmune response.
