The best part of my job isn’t just the successful surgery—it’s seeing the joy and new lease on life my patients feel! 🕺✨
This gentleman was so thrilled to be heading home just 72 hours after his Robotic Bariatric Surgery that he insisted on a victory dance. I might be a little shy when it comes to dancing, but I’m never too shy to celebrate a life-changing milestone with my patients.
Recovery is faster, pain is less, and the smiles are much bigger with robotic-assisted precision. Proud to bring health and happiness back into his life!

The Power of Precision: Robotic Inguinal Hernia Repair 🤖🦾
In this video, I am performing a Complete Robotic Inguinal Hernia Repair. This approach represents the pinnacle of surgical technology, allowing for a seamless and fully integrated interface that provides unmatched control throughout the entire procedure.
Why Complete Robotic is the Superior Choice:
For advanced Abdominal Wall Repair (AWR), the robotic system is a true game-changer:
* Superior Control: The system translates every movement into micro-movements with zero tremor, allowing for “complete” robotic control during complex maneuvers.
* 3D High-Definition Visualization: Provides a depth of field that laparoscopy cannot match, making it easier to identify vital structures and ensure a perfect repair.
* Precision Suturing: Wristed instrumentation allows for natural, precise suturing of the mesh and the defect, which is critical for long-term success and reducing recurrence.
* Patient Benefits: Greater precision means less tissue trauma, leading to minimal pain and a faster return to daily life.
As a specialist in robotic and laparoscopic surgery, I am dedicated to utilizing these advanced tools to ensure my patients receive the most innovative care available today.

My sleep study : The results are in, and they were shocking. 😮
> I recently did a sleep study test, and even though I am not suffering from obesity, I was diagnosed with mild sleep apnea. It’s a personal reminder that we can’t always “see” what’s happening with our health from the outside.
> 🛑 The Myth: Only people with obesity suffer from Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA).
> ✅ The Fact: Airway anatomy and genetics play a massive role, especially in the Indian population.
> In my book Beyond Weight Loss Surgery, I talk about holistic health—and this diagnosis is a wake-up call. Even “mild” sleep apnea can impact heart health, metabolic recovery, and the cognitive sharpness I need in the OR.
> I’m sharing this because if it can happen to me, it can happen to anyone. Your sleep is your superpower—don’t let a “fit” exterior give you a false sense of security. 💤
> Watch the video to see my journey and why I decided to get tested. What are your thoughts on this? Let’s discuss below. 👇

When Roles are Reversed: A Special World Obesity Day Reflection 💐
In the quiet routine of the surgical ward, there are moments that deeply touch the heart of a surgeon. Typically, it is the family who brings flowers to a patient recovering from surgery. However, this morning, the roles were beautifully reversed.
I was moved to receive a stunning bouquet—not from a visitor, but from a patient I had the privilege of operating on just three days ago.
As she prepares for her discharge today, a mere 72 hours after her Laparoscopic Bariatric Surgery, it is not just her clinical recovery that is remarkable—it is the visible transformation in her spirit. Today also marks World Obesity Day, and seeing her walk toward a completely different life is the most powerful way to observe it.
After years of enduring the physical and emotional weight of obesity and its related health struggles, she isn’t simply leaving the hospital; she is reclaimed. What struck me most was the renewed spark in her eyes—a reflection of the hope and excitement that comes when a burden is finally lifted.
Seeing that joy is the ultimate reward. It serves as a powerful reminder that our work at ODDS Clinic and AIG Hospitals goes far beyond the operating room. We don’t just “operate”—we provide the tools for a patient to hit the “reset button” on their metabolic health.
On this World Obesity Day, let’s shift the perspective from judgment to support, and from struggle to science-backed solutions. Wishing her a magnificent journey ahead as she walks toward a lighter, healthier, and much happier version of herself! ✨

Why your Vitamin D might be "trapped." ☀️ Body: If you have excess body fat, Vitamin D gets stored in fat cells instead of your blood. You don’t need a new diet plan — you need a better understanding of food.
It’s not about chasing “anti-inflammatory diets” or viral food trends.
What truly matters is meal balance:
✔ Right proportion of carbs
✔ Adequate protein
✔ Enough fiber
✔ Healthy fats
The best diet is simple:
Home-cooked, minimally processed food.
Remember — diet plans work only if you can follow them for life, not just for 3 months.
Choose a lifestyle, not a temporary fix.

ICMR has revealed the real problem with the Indian diet — and it’s not what you think.
It’s not microwaves.
It’s not leftover food.
It’s not oil vs ghee.
👉 The real issue is too much carbohydrate and too little protein.
According to studies:
• 62% of calories in the Indian diet come from carbs
• Only ~12% from protein
This imbalance is a major reason behind the rising cases of diabetes, fatty liver, and metabolic diseases.
Here’s the simple long-term fix 👇
You don’t need to eliminate rice or roti completely.
✔ If you eat rice → reduce one fist of rice
✔ If you eat roti → reduce one roti
✔ Replace it with protein
Protein options:
• Non-vegetarian: eggs, chicken
• Vegetarian: paneer, tofu
• Supplement option: good quality whey protein
Minimum daily protein requirement:
👉 1 g per kg body weight
Simple rule to remember:
Replace carbs with protein — and your muscles, metabolism, and health will change over time.
