What’s the point of learning CPR?

The simple answer is—CPR saves lives! By performing CPR, you can help to buy time until medical assistance arrives at the scene of an emergency.

The majority of sudden cardiac arrests will occur within the home or out in a recreational setting—it will be unexpected and there usually won’t be a medical professional nearby to assist straight away. This is why it’s so important to brush up on your CPR and first aid skills to ensure you’re prepared at all times and in all places.

WHAT IS CPR?

The main reason to provide CPR is to restore the flow of oxygenated blood to the brain of a victim who has suffered sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). After SCA, the victim is not breathing (or not breathing adequately) and the heart is not pumping oxygenated blood to the brain or vital organs. Clinically the victim is dead. Biologically though, the victim still has a chance at survival.

Prompt CPR can double or triple the possibilities of survival.

We believe that "Anyone can be a lifesaver"

Lifesaver are everywhere in the community. They can be teachers, students, mums, dad's, firemen, plumbers, accountants and etc. They patrol the houses, streets, workplace and parks of the communities in which they live. They don't always wear a uniform but they can and do save lives.

But the emergency medical situation can occur anytime to anyone even the life saver can find themselves in distress situation that is why passing the life saving skills to others is very important.
