March is Kidney Awareness Month. Did you know that kidney disease is often called a "silent disease" because it has no symptoms until it is very advanced? Some of the risk factors for kidney disease are diabetes, high blood pressure, family history, and being over 60 years old.
If you have any of these risk factors, talk to your doctor about getting a simple blood and urine test to check your kidney function. You can also take steps to protect your kidneys by eating healthy, staying active, drinking enough water, quitting smoking, and managing your blood sugar and blood pressure.
Fortis Hospital recently marked Kidney Day at DCDC Kidney Care Civil Hospital in Narnaul. Dr. Rajesh Garsa, Additional Director in Nephrology & Kidney Transplant, shared valuable insights on maintaining healthy kidneys. The session saw participation from 38 patients, fostering awareness and understanding about kidney health.
