Dear youngsters ,
She came into my counselling room and cried.
"I don’t know why I’m crying so many times a day," she said.
"I was never like this before. I’ve always been strong—able to handle everything calmly, even when it came to my kids.
But I felt shattered when my daughter shouted at me and blamed me for my emotional outbursts and instability.
What’s happening to me?"
“What’s your age?” I asked.
“I’m in my late 40s,” she replied.
I gently said, “There’s nothing wrong with you.
You’re in your perimenopausal stage. During this phase, hormonal fluctuations can become intense. Emotional lows, anxiety, mood swings, hot flashes—these are all part of the journey.”
She is an educated, working woman—and yet unaware of the biological changes happening inside her.

**Dear Youngsters,**
Remember when you got your first period?
How excited, supportive, and comforting your mom was?
She stood by you, guided you, helped you fix your first sanitary pad.
She fulfilled your cravings, fed you the most nourishing foods, fruits, and vegetables.
She prepared your hot water bag to soothe your cramps.
Now it’s your turn to take care of her.
Understand what she’s going through.
Know that her mood swings aren't intentional.
She’s not being dramatic—she’s trying her best to cope with something she doesn’t fully understand either.
Give her a hug.
Offer her her favourite chocolate.
Be there for her—just like she’s always been there for you.
---
**Dear Sons and Men,**
Please understand—she hid most of her pain for your sake.
She never complained.
Even during her worst cramps, she cooked your favourite meals with love.
So when she suddenly changes—when she breaks down, lashes out, or withdraws—it’s not her fault.
Even she doesn’t know exactly what nature is doing to her.
Don’t tell her you’re tired of her mood swings or her tears.
Don’t push her away when she needs you most.
Instead, tell her:
**“We need you, Mom.”**
Express your love—especially during this stage of her life.
Let her know she is still the most important woman in your world!
