The meaning of lingam is a 'symbol'  # symbol of supreme consciousness and highest being of existence  # Nandi is the symbol of infinite devotion and Patience.  # snake is the symbol of awareness  # trishula is the symbol of triguna and  # Trinetra is the eye of intuition, wisdom and witness.  # 'Bhasma' the Ash on the forehead represents the ultimate truth that ' everything is going to be in the state of bhasma ash  after death so there should be no attachment with anything ' . Reality is,  everything is Bhasma. Ganga ji represents holiness and purity.. if our head and heart is full of purity then we can burn the sin action of anybody. The moon is the sign of mind which is based  and remain on the purest mind, if mind is the based on the right and pure thought process then it will be in the right direction with consistency, it will be not like increasing and decreasing the moon  , therefore shiva always with half moon which is constant . We also called shiva 'Ardhendushekhar'. Rudraksha represents the power of love and compassion, the rudraksha word made up with two words rudra and aksha , rudra is shiva in the form of Frist 'adi ' Yogi and aksha means the eye .  The tears of lord shiva which came and flow out of compassion and love in the state of samadhi become rudraksha. And binded hair known as ' jata jut ' is the symbol of collected and concentrated mental energy and mind that kind of mind and energy is impossible to hold by anybody in this existence except by lord shiva , so whenever the ' pralaya ' or demolition is needed only then shiv unbinds and open the jata jut .
