FACULTY DEVELOPMENT UNIT-SEPTEMBER 2025

Lisie College of Nursing conducted continuing education programme as a
part of Faculty Development Unit on 2.9.2025. The presenter of the programme
was Mrs. Sherin Thomas, Associate. Professor, Lisie College of Nursing. The
topic of the presentation was Smarter and faster presentation using AI tools. She
focused on positive effects of AI in creating PPTs for Teaching and learning.
She enlisted positive and negative effects of AI. She mentioned the challenges
to be aware of with AI PPT. She also listed the steps for creating AI powered
PowerPoints. She pointed out the tips for writing effective prompt and various
tools used for AI ppt with examples.

Prof. Dr. Usha Marath, Principal, Lisie College of Nursing added more
points on to use AI in a more effective ways in teaching learning process. She
also said to refer the content from textbooks and to refer scenarios, clinical
examples to use AI platform.

FACULTY DEVELOPMENT UNIT-AUGUST 2025

Lisie College of Nursing conducted continuing education programme as a
part of Faculty Development Unit on 27.08.2025. The presenter of the
programme was Mrs. Sreekutty, Asst. Professor, Lisie College of Nursing. The
topic of the presentation was applying behavior modification principle for
effective student feedback and criticism. She focused on effective approach for
feedback. She covered the core principles of building a strong foundation. She
explained about the effective techniques for nursing educators in mastering
feedback with supportive literatures. Finally, she concluded the session with
feedback eco system cycle which creates a culture for continuous growth among
students.
Prof. Dr. Usha Marath, Principal, Lisie College of Nursing added more
points on faculty feedback which has to be consistent and target the behavior
not the student and we need to understand our challenges and skills while giving
feedback and criticizing students. Eventually she asked to add points on
common errors faculty commit while giving feedback.

“THIMIRTHONAM 2K25”

The grand celebration of Onam – Thimirthonam 2K25 was organized on 26 August 2025 at the Lisie Auditorium by Lisie College of Nursing. The event was graced with joy, cultural vibrance, and active participation from students and faculty members.The official programme commenced at 10.30 am with a soulful prayer song by students of 4th semester B.Sc. Nursing. This was followed by a warm welcome address delivered by Ms.AiswaryaSajeev (8th Sem B.Sc. Nursing).The much-awaited entry of Maveli was enacted by students of 8th semester B.Sc. Nursing, which filled the auditorium with festive cheer. The celebration was formally inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Paul Karedan (Director, Lisie Medical and Educational Institution). Rev. Fr. Davis Padannakkal (Assistant Director, Lisie Medical and Educational Institution) gave the Onam message, highlighting the cultural essence and values of Onam. The programme also witnessed a heartfelt felicitation by Prof.Dr.Usha Marath, Principal, Lisie College of Nursing, who appreciated the enthusiasm and creativity of the students in making the event a grand success.The cultural segment of the programme included Thiruvathira, Malayali Manka and Sreeman competitions, and vibrant batch-wise programmes show casing traditional dances, songs depicting the spirit of Onam. Exciting games were also conducted, adding fun and energy to the occasion.Prize distribution was held to honour the winners of the various competitions, followed by the Vote of Thanks proposed by Mr.Joyal Mathew (6th Semester B.Sc. Nursing). The official programme concluded at 1.00 pm, followed by the much-awaited Onam Sadhya, which brought together the Lisie family to share the festive meal in the true spirit of unity and togetherness.The day’s celebrations beautifully reflected the cultural richness, harmony, and joy that Onam stands for, making it a memorable occasion for all.The entire event beautifully reflected the message of unity, prosperity, and cultural harmony that Onam signifies. It was indeed a memorable celebration for the Lisie family.

The Lisie College of Nursing hosted its Alumni Meet, “Milan 2K25,” on 30 August 2025 at the Lisie Hospital Auditorium. The event commenced with a Ranga Pooja and a welcome address by Prof. Dr. Lissa Peter, followed by the inauguration by Rev. Fr. Paul Karedan, who emphasized the vital role of alumni in upholding Lisie’s mission. Felicitations were offered by Rev. Fr. Davis Padannakal and Prof. Dr. Usha Marath, who appreciated the alumni’s achievements and contributions.Alumni shared nostalgic memories and reflections, while the session concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Prof. Manju George of Lisie College of Nursing. A vibrant cultural program by the students added color and liveliness to the occasion. The meet concluded with a fellowship lunch, further strengthening the bonds between alumni, faculty, and students.

The annual sports meet “LIBERRA 2K25” of Lisie College of Nursing was conducted on 23 August 2025. All the students assembled at St. Augustine school ground by 7.30 am. Green, red, blue and yellow houses were represented by 2nd semester, 4th semester, 6th and 7thsemester BSc Nursingstudents respectively. The official program started with a prayer song by 4th semester BSc nursing students. Ms. AiswaryaSajeev, 8th semester BSc nursing student welcomed the gathering. Rev. Fr. Paul Karedan (Director, Lisie Medical and Educational Institutions) inaugurated the function and delivered the inaugural address. Later, Prof.Dr.UshaMarath (Principal, Lisie College of Nursing) delivered the sports wishes. The College sports CaptainMr.Joseph Alan Bivera and other respective house captains received the flags from the Director, followed by batch wise March-past. Ms.AryalekshmiBalu (Assistant Professor, Lisie College of Nursing) administered the sports pledge to all the respected houses. Ms.Biya E B, 4th semester BSc Nursing student proposed vote of thanks. The Official function concluded with National Anthem by 8th semester BSc Nursing students. Later various competitions were conducted and prizes was distributed byRev.Fr.DavisPadannakkal(Assistant director-Lisie Medical and Educational Institutions).Mr.RoshinM of 2nd semester and Ms.JerlinShinojof 4th semester BSc Nursing emerged as the individual champions from boys and girls respectively.
