*First Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery in MOSC MCH:*
Our CVTS team of Dr. Smartin, Dr.Saji & Dr.Sujith, did the first minimally invasive open heart surgery on 22/10/2018. It was a case of Ostium Secundum ASD and patient underwent a minimally invasive ASD closure surgery through an incision of around 5 cms on the right side of the chest. Patient had a smooth post operative period and was discharged on the 4th post operative day. Minimally invasive cardiac surgery is a new technique which helps in avoiding sternotomy, thereby ensuring, faster wound healing, better cosmetic results and much earlier discharge from the hospital. Its done only in a very few centers in Kerala. Thanking everyone for all the support. 🙏🏼.
