Before Healing Begins We Must Start Noticing
This image on social media recently caught my attention for its powerful depiction of burnout. It’s a reminder of how easily we miss the subtle cues, the early signs, and the quiet struggles hidden behind a veil of “normalcy.”
Too often, we overlook the telltale signs—spiraling fatigue, boredom, irritability, impatience, sudden anger, or waves of grief—not just in others, but within ourselves.
The real work of healing doesn’t begin in therapy or recovery; it starts much earlier. It begins with checking in, noticing when something feels off, and finding the courage to admit it. Sometimes, all it takes is to truly listen, to be present—or to simply stop by and ask a friend or colleague, “Is everything okay?” Maybe then, fewer people would have to face their struggles alone.
