High protein diets are becoming increasingly popular in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. There are many natural sources of protein for those who do not wish to take supplements, which can suit most dietary requirements.

Proteins are vital nutrients that are essential for the growth and maintenance of the human body. It is recommended that adults consume approximately 0.8g of protein per kilogram in body weight per day

There are various sources from which we get natural proteins. Mostly natural proteins are found in animal foods such as poultry food, and seafood and are also present in plant-based foods such as lentils, nuts, etc.

Though there is more convenience in using protein supplementation like protein shakes or protein bars, it is always best to use natural sources. Consume natural food items as much as you can, however, you can also use supplements to fill in the gaps, only under the supervision of a nutritionist.

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome can be defined as a health condition in women, where a cyst gets formed in ovaries. The cyst is primarily formed due to the overproduction of androgen hormones. PCOS can lead women to gain weight; it is also linked to insulin resistance and high insulin levels can lead to symptoms like excessive hunger, hair fall, acne, facial hair, etc.

A proper diet and nutrition can help PCOS patients to lose and manage their weight along with controlling their insulin levels as well. Most experts agree that a high protein and low carbohydrate can help in dealing with weight and insulin issues.
But we generally tend to confuse a calculated low carb or caloric deficit diet and an unhealthy ‘No Carb’ diet!

Carbs are important to energize your body and keep you on your feet! It is a Macronutrient after all! Correct quantity intake and having Complex carbs instead of too much refined carbs will definitely be very helpful! As they contain fibre too!

Always remember- PCOS is a disorder that is evolved from a prolonged unhealthy lifestyle it CAN be reversed but has to maintained!
