Fast Minds, Slower Brains
The viral clip of the 10-year-old on Kaun Banega Crorepati wasn’t arrogance — it was imbalance.
Children today are growing up in a world of instant answers, rewards, and validation.
Their minds run fast, but their emotional brakes develop slower.
Neuroscience shows that overstimulation sharpens thinking speed but weakens self-control.
Their frontal lobe (control) can’t always balance the limbic system (emotion).
So, interrupting, arguing, or reacting quickly isn’t always poor manners — it’s emotional dysregulation.
Many children now perform confidence while hiding anxiety.
Their self-worth is tied to achievement, not inner calm.
They mirror the impatience and criticism they see around them.
Behind every “arrogant” child is often a restless, overstimulated mind waiting for guidance, not judgment.
If we want emotionally grounded children,
we must model patience, empathy, and calm — not just demand it.
