সম্প্রতি আমাদের একটি গবেষণা নিয়ে টাইমস অফ ইনডিয়া একটি হেডিং করেছে। এতে খানিকটা বিভ্রান্তি ও তৈরি হয়েছে। এটা বলা হয়েছে যে শুধু রোগী নয় কিছু ডাক্তার বাবু রাও ক্যান্সার নির্ণয় করতে দেরি করেছেন। এখানে ডাক্তার বলতে , প্রাইমারি কন্টাক্ট অর্থাৎ যার কাছে রোগী প্রথম গেছেন তার কথা বলা হয়ছে । এবং আমাদের স্টাডি তে এর বেশির ভাগ ছিলেন - অল্টারনেটিভ মেডিসিন প্রাক্টিশনার । অর্থাৎ হোমিওপ্যাথি , আয়ুর্বেদ এবং ট্রেনিং ছাড়া কিছু চিকিৎসক - যাদের অনেকে হাতুড়ে ডাক্তার বলে থাকেন।

তবে এই গবেষণার উদ্দেশ্য কাউকে ছোট করা নয়। প্রত্যন্ত এলাকায় , গ্রাম এ প্রাথমিক ভাবে এদের কাছেই সবাই কে যেতে হয়। তাই সব গ্রাম্য চিকিৎসক দের নিয়েই আমদের এগিয়ে যেতে হবে।

এই সমস্যা আমাদের মতো অনেক অন্যুনত দেশের। এর প্রতিকার স্বরূপ একটি ক্যান্সার নির্ণয়ের কোর্স শুরু করা হয়েছে । এর উদ্দেশ্য হলো সমস্থ গ্রামীণ চিকিৎসক কে ক্যান্সার নির্ণয় এ ট্রেনিং দেয়া । এটা অনলাইন মোড এ ডিজিটাল মাধ্যমে শুরু হবে। প্রয়োজনে ব্যবস্থা হবে হাতে - কলমে ট্রেনিং এর।
