Miss Prashasti can pronounce the names of medicines she takes with great accuracy and she even scored 10/10 when asked which one’s for what! … calpol for fever, decolic for pain in stomach and zofer when she vomits and a few more! 🥰🥰

Shingles or Herpes Zoster is an extremely painful skin rash that occurs due to reactivation of chicken pox virus that stays back at our nerve endings in spine and when the immunity lowers down, it spreads into the skin part supplied by that nerve root….
Though not common in pre adolescent children with no history of chicken pox before, yes it can happen if mother had chicken pox very late in pregnancy period…🦠👩🏻‍⚕️

The ear which we see is actually made up of cartilage which can also get infected by a number of organisms most commonly some bacteria, this condition is called “Pinna Perichondritis” ,
It is extremely painful, appears red, swollen and not uncommon in children… needs prompt treatment to avoid disfigurement of pinna…

Can be caused by
1. Trauma like sports injury
2. Ear piercing (High piercing)
3. Allergic / drug reaction

Some useful advice:
🔵Don’t unnecessarily touch the affected ear
🔵Try to avoid ear piercing till 5 years
🔵Maintenance of asepsis during such procedures
🔵Take opinion of your physician
