Last week, we gathered at the rooftop of our centre for a truly special mental health workshop.

The workshop was organized by the Pratidhwani W.B, We were honored to host Jayati Mukherjee , a renowned psychologist, who led an empowering session for 30 parents of children who are deaf or hard of hearing came from six districts of West Bengal.

Raising a child with hearing loss comes with unique joys and challenges. Through interactive games and deep conversation, our parents explored ways to:

Know themselves

Prioritize their own mental well-being.

Find balance in the daily routine.

Build a supportive community with one another.

It wasn't just a workshop; it was a reminder that to lead a meaningful life, we must first nurture our own hearts. Thank you to all the parents who participated so actively!

Yesterday evening, Anwesha Kolkata and Anaabil came together for a vital awareness session dedicated to the gift of hearing.

We were privileged to host Dr. N V K Mohan, Eminent ENT Specialist from CMRI Hospital, who simplified complex medical insights into actionable habits for everyone present.

Key Highlights from the Session:

Safe Listening Habits: In an age of earbuds and constant noise, Dr. Mohan emphasized how we can protect our ears without giving up the sounds we love.

The Power of Early Detection: A deep dive into why Newborn Hearing Screening is not just a test, but a crucial step in ensuring a child’s developmental success.

Interactive Q&A: The energy in the room was palpable! From myths about ear cleaning to the latest in hearing technology, our audience brought forward thought-provoking questions that Dr. Mohan addressed with clarity and care.

Hearing health is often overlooked until it’s compromised. By fostering these conversations, we aim to bridge the gap between clinical expertise and everyday wellness.

3rd March is popularly known as World Hearing Day. To raise awareness on ear and hearing care, an awareness session is organized today by Anwesha Kolkata and Anaabil Group from 7 PM to 8 PM.
Eminent ENT Specialist Dr. N V K Mohan, CMRI Hospital will be present as a guest and will enlighten on the following topic: Safe Listening Practices and Importance of Newborn hearing screening.

গত ১৩ই মার্চ, 'বেথুন ইন্সটিটিউট অফ জেরিয়াট্রিক্স রিসার্চ এন্ড রিহ্যাবিলিটেশন সেন্টার'-এর আমন্ত্রণে অন্বেষা কলকাতা তাদের একটি বিশেষ অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিল।

৩রা মার্চ ছিল মহান মানবতাবাদী ডাঃ হেনরী নর্মান বেথুন-এর ১৩৬তম জন্মবার্ষিকী। উনার জন্মদিন এবং ইন্সটিটিউট-এর ২১তম প্রতিষ্ঠা বার্ষিকী উপলক্ষ্যেই এই সুন্দর অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করা হয়েছিল।

​এই সংস্থাটি মূলত বয়স্ক মানুষদের কল্যাণে নিরলসভাবে কাজ করে চলেছে। এই বিশেষ দিনে, সমাজের কল্যাণে যে সমস্ত NGO কাজ করছে, তাদের তারা বিশেষভাবে পুরস্কৃত ও সম্মানিত করেন। গতকাল বিমল চ্যাটার্জী সভাগৃহ (শহিদ স্মৃতি ভবন), ৩৯২এ, প্রিন্স আনোয়ার শাহ রোড, কলকাতা তে এমন একটি মঞ্চ থেকে অন্বেষা কলকাতা সম্মান ও স্বীকৃতি পেয়েছে, এতে আমরা অত্যন্ত আনন্দিত ও গর্বিত।

​সবথেকে বড় খুশির খবর হলো, এই গুণী মানুষেরা আগামী দিনে আমাদের সাথে যৌথভাবে কাজ করার ইচ্ছা প্রকাশ করেছেন! এলাকার দরিদ্র ও অসহায় মানুষদের জন্য আমরা যদি 'কানের পরীক্ষা' (Ear Check-up) ক্যাম্পের আয়োজন করি, তবে তারা আমাদের সর্বতোভাবে সাহায্য করবেন বলে আশ্বাস দিয়েছেন।

​সমাজসেবার এই যাত্রায় এমন অভিজ্ঞ ও সমাজদরদী মানুষদের পাশে পাওয়া আমাদের জন্য এক বিরাট প্রাপ্তি। এভাবেই সকলের সহযোগিতায় আমরা আগামী দিনে আরও বড় পরিসরে মানুষের পাশে দাঁড়াতে চাই।

Anwesha Kolkata will organise an online awareness programme on Ear and Hearing care in collaboration with Anaabil, a reputed Bengali magazine for children, on 15th March, 2026 from 7-8 pm.

The programme will be conducted on google meet plarform.

It is open to all.
