About me…

Change is Inevitable

Today, I am sharing something I have wanted to express for a long time. I came to Abu Dhabi in 2012 after graduating from Kerala University as a first-rank holder in my Master’s degree. Many days passed without any significant change beyond becoming a school teacher. For someone who had cleared the prelims for the civil service exam and stood as a Kerala University first-rank holder, the wounds caused by the words of others and the question of “what next?” lingered for several years, holding me back.

However, if I have now become a psychologist, a motivational speaker, a public speaker, and a professional trainer, it is because I curbed my negative thoughts, resolved to think positively, worked hard, and committed to moving forward.

Today , if I have touched the hearts of even a few people by sharing my knowledge as a trainer for children and adults, and if I have played a small role in bringing about a change in their lives, it is because I was first willing to change myself.

Even as I progress as a professional trainer and psychologist, teaching remains a passion I hold close. I carry it with me because I love children. The students I taught ten years ago are now parents. The teacher-student relationship I built with them continues to this day, evolving into friendships. Life has taught me to embrace these changes while cherishing the past.

I have always been an active and outspoken person—someone who responds quickly and speaks with confidence. In college, this made me shine as a lady representative in the student union and as a vice-chairperson. However, over time, I began to change. I learned to shift from being a quick reactor to responding only when necessary and making thoughtful decisions when required. This transformation proved that nothing is impossible to change.

Today, I have trained myself—90 percent, at least—to avoid reacting impulsively, to disassociate from those who hurt me, and to focus on embracing positivity. By remaining silent when needed, I have learned that patience and humility are strengths, not weaknesses.

Life takes us through many stages. At times, we may become emotional, lose control, or burst into tears. We may share our deepest feelings with those we trust. This does not make us weak or incapable; it makes us human. These moments are all part of life. React where necessary. Remain silent when it’s best. Think and decide carefully. Speak openly when required. Share your happiness with your loved ones.

This is my guiding principle. Life’s experiences shape us into who we are. If we can absorb these lessons, we grow stronger and more focused. Today, I prefer the current version of myself over the person I used to be, and I continue moving forward toward my goals.

My next destination is clear: the goal of Dr. Deepa Arun.
