JUIAK Kargil Launches Al-Mahdi (A.S) Scouts Disaster Response Force

Kargil, April 2:

Jamiat Ul Ulama Isna Asharia Kargil Ladakh today formally launched the Al-Mahdi (A.S) Scouts Disaster Response Force, a voluntary youth initiative aimed at strengthening community-based disaster response and public service in the region.
Executive Councillor Aga Syed Mujtaba attended the programme as the Chief Guest, while Deputy Commissioner/CEO LAHDC Kargil Rakesh Kumar (IAS) was the Guest of Honour. SSP Kargil Nitin Yadav (IPS) participated as the Special Guest. Among others present were Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kargil, ASP Kargil, councillors, religious scholars and members of civil society.
During the programme, Javed Ahmad, Incharge of the project, briefed the gathering about the aims and objectives of Al-Mahdi (A.S) Scouts, highlighting its role in assisting the administration during disasters, fire emergencies and other contingencies.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner Kargil and SSP Kargil appreciated the initiative taken by the President JUIAK Ladakh for establishing such an important volunteer wing. They noted that the force comprises ex-servicemen trained by the Indian Army, whose experience and discipline will be highly beneficial during emergency situations.
Addressing the gathering, the President JUIAK Ladakh said that the Scouts will gradually expand its units at the zonal level across Kargil. He also informed that Al-Muntazir Pashkum has taken the lead by affiliating as a branch of Al-Mahdi Scouts for the Shargole Zone.
Javed Ahmad expressed gratitude to the President JUIAK Ladakh for providing them the opportunity to utilize their 17 to 20 years of experience for the welfare of the people. He also informed that before being formally launched as Al-Mahdi (A.S) Scouts, the team had been working for the past eight years as the Al-Reza Rescue Team, actively participating in rescue operations and community service initiatives.
Meanwhile, several councillors announced on-the-spot contributions to support the functioning of Al-Mahdi Scouts and assured their continued support in the future.
The organisers expressed hope that the volunteer force will work in close coordination with the administration to effectively respond to disasters such as avalanches, landslides, fire incidents and road accidents, which are common in the region due to its challenging terrain and harsh climatic conditions.

AL-REZA HC & RF, the Health wing of Jamait Ul Ulema Isna Ashriya Kargil successfully conducted three days Mega Advanced Gynaecology camp at Kargil.

The Camp was inaugurated on 28/10/25 on Tuesday at District Hospital Kurbathang by Renowned Gynaecologist from Dubai, Dr Usha Kiran in presence of General Secretary Jamait Ul Ulema Isna Ashriya kargil, Hojjatul Islam Sheikh Ibrahim Khalili, Incharge Chief Medical Officer Kargil Dr Fatima Banoo, and incharge Medical Superintendent; Dr Mohd Abass.

The camp was organised by AL-REZA HC & RF in Collaboration with Department of Health Kargil.

Internationally Renowned Gynaecologist from Prime Hospital Dubai, Doctor Usha Kiran, Gold Medalist, Expert Scarless Surgeon ( V NOTES) attended the Health camp and Surgical workshop.

Female patients were examined and screened for Surgery by the gynaecologists of District Hospital Kargil in OPD, on first day of the camp on Monday - 27/10/25 and 10 major complicated Gynaecological cases were selected for surgery. Surgeries were performed on 2nd and 3rd days of the camp including Vaginal Hysterectomy, Abdominal Hysterectomy, Diagnostic laparoscopy and Laparoscopic Total Abdominal Hysterectomy.

High Skill anaesthesia and high risk anaesthesia were also given to these patients by our dedicated anaesthesia team in the camp headed by Dr Shaziya Naaz, Dr Abass Ali and Dr Diskit Angmo.

People from all corners of kargil appreciated the efforts of AL-REZA HC & RF for bringing Internationally renowned doctors at their doorstep for the poor patients in performing complex and complicated surgeries at Kargil.

General Secretary JUIAK, Sheikh Nazir Mehdi Mohammadi thanked Dr Usha Kiran for sparing her precious hectic schedule in Dubai and travelling such a long distance only to help and treat the poor patients of this far-flung region. He also thanked the UT administration, LAHDC Kargil, District administration, CMO, Medical Superintendent and RMO District Hospital Kargil, for their tireless support. He appreciated the tireless efforts of Doctors in uplifting the District Hospital Kargil as a centre of excellence. He also appreciated the anaesthetists and surgeons for doing surgeries till evening in these 3 days of the camp, besides all the dedicated O.T staffs n volunteers of AL-REZA.

President ALREZA HC & RF, Dr Mohd Abass thanked the Volunteers of AL-REZA for their tireless support in managing the camp, helping the patients and for their 24 hour services for the patients in the camp.

Kargil, September 22, 2025: In Ladakh, a Cancer Satellite Clinic was inaugurated today in Kargil by Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon. LG Ladakh Inaugurates Cancer Screening & Awerness Camp by AL- REZA HC & RF, at District Hospital Kargil.

Al Reza Health Care and Research Foundation (JUIAK Ladakh), in collaboration with Yatharth Super Speciality Hospital, Noida, organized a mega Cancer Screening and Awareness Camp at District Hospital Kargil. The camp was inugurated by the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Shri Kavinder Gupta.

The programme began with a solemn two-minute silence in memory of the late Dr. Stanzin, Former Medical Superintendent of DHK, honouring his lifelong contributions to healthcare in the district.

On this occasion, Dr. Pawan Kumar Singh from Yatharth Super Speciality Hospital delivered an expert lecture on cancer prevention and early detection. He emphasized the importance of awareness, timely screening, and the need to train local health workers to use portable diagnostic equipment, ensuring that life-saving services reach even the most remote communities.
