Another book review !

Books are always very cost effective. For example , this book can be used --

- to show colours (Infant)
- teach about farm animals, their sounds, their houses... Sing along poems like - "Old McDonald had a farm" (Toddlers and Early childhood)
- Identification of alphabets (Toddlers and Early childhood)
- Reading longer words like strike, electric (Bigger kids)
- An inspiration to show Kids how to write a book or how to draw comic pictures (Bigger kids)

So if you have a wall in your house free for a book rack, never shirk from getting books for your kids ... !

I don't have serial height records of my child but I do feel he isn't growing well.. am I right ? Am I being worried unnecessarily ?

What all history can give you clue to the need for clinical evaluation of your child even if YOU DONT HAVE SERIAL height records ?

Do watch our video to understand it ! Let's not be in denial or in doubt if your child is short or not !!! If you are in doubt, do get it double checked .....

Because the time for growth is the same... From being in mother's womb to completion of puberty ... !!!

The window lost for treatment of short height can't be retrieved or brought back .. !

My mother is on tablets for diabetes. Then why do you advise insulin for my child who has diabetes ??

I have stopped insulin for my child with Type 1 Diabetes and put him on tablets. He has a High sugar attack now and admitted in ICU ! What did I do wrong ?

Have you ever heard of these scenarios ?

As the problem is different, the treatment is different.

Do understand about 2 main types of Diabetes Mellitus ! And always remember, the treatment is as per type of diabetes ..

IT IS ALL SCIENCE BASED !

Breastfeeding is the first gift you give to your child when he / she is born. And a gift that lasts a lifetime !

Colostrum is liquid gold.

Never deprive your baby of breastmilk. It's their right. If by any any chance, some issue happens.. please don't shirk from taking help !

Let's also understand nature's help to us to establish this.. !

Your first thought... O God ! The sight of that jacket is making me sweat ... 😂 ! This is a pre recorded BOOK REVIEW missed out from uploads before.

As I give more book reviews, please do consider different ways of using a book, as a NEW LESSON each in your BOOK READING SKILLS to your kids. Use these skills in reading all books you have !

Very cost effective book .. again can be used for different purposes at different ages !

- 6 months + --- Show some colours, let them touch and see things. Name common things in the book
- 9 months + - Enhancing fine motor skills like pincer grasp while trying to push and pull
- 1-3 yrs - Talk about farm animals. Show alphabets. Show objects. Play memory game etc
- > 3-4 yrs - Practising phonics, reading words etc
- A treat to read this to kids less than 4-5 years on CHRISTMAS EVE !

Every child with diabetes and their parents deserve to understand what the issue with sugar levels is .. and how to use intellect to correct it ! WE AT ENDO KIDDO CLINIC, try to make you develop this intellect ! And even though you may not be highly educated , still we make you reach there .. in Punjabi / hindi / english !

A good education empowers parents to not just mechanically up and down the numbers but understand what the problem is .. and how to solve it !

True care for patient is hand holding at all points .. while letting them be on their own with understanding ! 🙂🙂

What is calcium ?
It's there in milk..
It's there in bones..

What controls it ?
Is it just something controlled in diet ?
How to ensure you are taking calcium well ?
What if we don't take enough calcium ?
Will we have any problems ?

Maybe not ...Till the PARATHYROID HORMONE is there... Calcium levels tend to be controlled very well in body.. 🙂 !

Height !
Growth !

It is a singular outcome on which multiple influences act.

So, the cause for your child being short is not a black and white answer !!

Height is like WHITE LIGHT which has RAINBOW COLOURS HIDDEN (Multiple causes) within it.. this WHITE LIGHT needs a skilled PEDIATRIC ENDOCRINOLOGIST (The prism) to decode which wavelength is suboptimal preventing adequate height gain !

Its of utmost importance to know the correct cause OR to know which cause contributes how much to Short height.. to give the correct treatment ....

Early diagnosis and management is always better. But in some hormonal disorders, this QUICK RESPONSE in treatment goes a long way to prevent long term complications !
