Do you know what your makeup๐Ÿ’…๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’„๐Ÿ’‹ is made of? At least โ€œ60% of the products we use on our skin are absorbed and deposited into the circulatory system.โ€

We all use makeup. Some days more, some day less or on some โ€” none at all.

There is nothing wrong with wearing makeup, unless your cosmetics may contain ingredients that are linked to disease such as heavy metals like lead. Even minute levels can lead to brain ailments and toxicity.

Lead has been found in various common cosmetics such as eyeshadow, skin cream, blush but most importantly in lipstick because we all end up swallwing a little bit up every time we apply one. It is estimated that a women may swallow 2 kgs of lipstick in her lifetime.

So does your lipstick contain lead too? I was surprised to see certification on this one.

And a big factor for me..

" โ€” only increases in childhood and adolescence, stays constant throughout life."

โ—๏ธ If children are fed unhealthy foods they will have a hard time loosing or even maintaining healthy weight as adults.
โ—๏ธ Due to the INCREASED number of cells, even slight fat intake will be significant.

โ–ช๏ธ Only the SIZE of fat cells CHANGES:

" โ€” when weight loss or gain takes place"

If we keep a check on our kids' diet, we may be able to prevent obesity physiologically and habitually (of eating in the pattern which didn't lead to weight gain in the first place).
And parents have a role to play -- I for one was a big pain. I used to cry out loud just by the mention of vegetables and almost puke at the sight of them. All I wanted was paranthas and butter, panner or processed junk.

My mum used to camouflage them into paranthas and soups, soon she realised this can't go on forever. I was around 5, when one day mum and my elder sister took me to the police station for not eating dal. The cop even play acted along. I love dal ever since then.

I feel so blessed to have been born in the "Land of Spices". ๐Ÿ› Out of the many cuisines of multiple ethnicities that I've tried, I always find myself going back to Indian food. The fusion of flavours and aromas of homemade food beats the affliction of any fast food chain that I so badly craved in my teens! (thats a story for another day)

I found this huge study by IIT Jodhpur done by data crunching 2500 Indian recipes, explaining why! They broke each dish down to its ingredients, then compared how often and heavily ingredients share flavour compounds. ๐Ÿฒ

Indian cuisine does something radical with flavours, something very different from what happens in the United States and rest of the Western culture.
