Compassion is born out of a Space of Abundance

The Compassion Circle of September 04th was anchored on the theme - Compassion in Equal Measure - for Self and Others.

This safe and non- judgemental social interactive platform created space for people from all walks of life, faith and community to share their experiences and stance around the new Codes of Living - wearing masks, getting vaccinated, maininting social distancing and related real life situations arising from these new codes.

The sharing and deliberation includes points of views and questions some of which include the ones that we leave here with you

- Does Compassion for Others change when one comes across people not following the new codes of living? Not wearing a mask?

- Getting Vaccinated or not is an Individual Choice. Is it easier to be Compassionate to the ones who follow the codes versus the ones who honor their choices?

- How does one be still compassionate when people walk into an elevator without wearing masks? If someone misses wearing a mask, is it to judge that the person didn’t wear it intently or is it to step into compassion and give the benefit of doubt that the person may have forgotten?

Through the conversations, members deliberated if Compassion for Others is being born out of Fear given the circumstances that the works is going through ?

Let us know from where do you feel Compassion for Others - the zone of fear or the zone of abundant inherent faith in humanity?

The Compassion Circle on 11th July will hold a special place on my heart. All compassion circles are special in their unique way yet this one is a little more special

We had a bunch of really young people from across continents at the circle session. The time zone differences didn’t seem like a challenge.

The clarity of thought, power of imagination, positivity, exuberance and compassion that this bunch displayed - unparallel.

The joy of making video birthday cards for friends during the lockdown while living alone is fulfilling said one and that also brings friends closer as creating something for someone is a gift of heart

Giving a day off from housework to her mumma was her way of displaying compassion for this young girl who is back home from her overseas school during the lockdown

Covid 19 has come and it will soon go away and we will then think about this time as memeort. These were the words of the sixteen year old who awaits her board exam results

The career aspirant, waiting to join his first job feels there is no need to sweat over the household chores, just get over with it and focus on “ONE” thing and her best at that!

Our communities, societies need more help from us. Not everyone is privileged to have most of what we have. Spare a few minutes and look around what more can we do to make someone’s life better... these words still ring in my ears

As we explored spaces and places we need compassion for self and for others, this beautiful session was concluded with a rendition of a beautiful song by one of our participants and these pictures shared by another that she created in animae

Another week comes to a close. Am carrying the energy as young and wisdom as tested from this week

2nd compassion in Leadership

The second in the series of Compasssion in Leadership Circle on 4th July 2020 was participated by leaders from financial services, Real estate, FMCG and Manufacturing.

Bridging the gap between the “whats” and “hows” the eminent leaders across industries brought out the following key themes :

It’s time to reconstruct the benchmarks of business targets
The current situation has brought about a powerful space of co-creating new realities
Cash flows form and go;relationships are forever
The Group also emphasised on the need of integrating Compassion in Organization policies and practices. Some of them shared personal examples of having led this initiative in their companies.

and I were sharing our experiences and impact COVID 19 is having on each of us and that conversation went deeper and we witnessed our emotions surfacing.
As each of us held space for the other during the conversation, there was a voice in the heart that took over. The voice was about our feeling for people at large.
Thus was born Compassion Circle. A container sealed with trust and confidentiality for people to share their experience and emotion. While curating, we realised that every crisis is an opportunity; so we added a section about evolving and emerging! Emergence of new reality, new behaviour, new habit...
Friends and their friends embraced the idea and in the three Compassion Circles so far, the participants poured their emotions and experiences generously into the container and when we opened the lid at the end of the session, each was ready to make a commitment. A commitment to start something new that emerged from the crisis that they would take forward once this crisis is over. A new realisation, thought, feeling that will help each to cross over and add to the life one is leading.
And of course as we cried together, we laughed together too. It was magical to see strangers from all walks of life and geographies coming forward to share their experiences with each other. We learnt from artists, professionals, iron man, medical professionals and caring individuals what we are BEING now and what we see ourselves DOING post the crisis to make our lives meaningful and fulfilling. Above all, there was an acknowledgement - compassion for self is equally important as it is for others.
So here we are... opening up the Compassion Circle to each of you.

One extra day in the year and actually in four years. Using the time to assimilate learning of the month and also wondering time flies so fast - already two months of 2020!

Talent mobility is need of the hour and how great an opportunity does it bring for the to truly impact businesses by identifying opportunities within the organization and map them to peoples’ aspirations. The winning combination can bring out the best is people and thereby the best in businesses

How great is it to start thinking what will Human Resource Function be called in future as the inclusive work world starts to integrate the offerings of technology and deciphering living with machines!

People will still be people and HR will need to hold space for them as they transition into new skills, new roles and new opportunities. These do bring uncertainty, insecurity, transition and transformation. What better time for HR professionals to bring out the HUMAN aspect in their service. Perhaps also time to transition from operational efficiency, service delivery to Real engagement with people and businesses.

And well, there’s always to lean on to evoke transformation in people as they embrace the integrated world of AI, Big Data, Virtual Reality and Robot Corprotate Citizens!

With two key notes in the month and a recognition, February looked rather fabulous! Nearing completion of Coactive Coaching Certification Program means lot more clocking of coaching hours and distill the learning.

Happy weekend now a days for me is about wearing the . It’s new, it’s exciting. It’s about working with people and witness the shift in them. It’s about humbly accepting the opportunity of being able to contribute meaningfully to the journey of individuals. is so much about creating synergy of personal values, resonant choice and committed action! I feel so grateful and humbled to bring this alive during the sessions.
