Dr Prem Kotian, born in Mumbai, India, began his medical education and Orthopedic residency training in India. He is the Professor of Orthopedics at Kasturba Medical College (K.M.C) Hospitals, Mangalore. He is an alumnus of Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College of the year 1982 and Masters in Orthopaedics from K.M.C Hospitals, Manipal University, Manipal. His training continued in the United States with fellowships under Dr Chittharanjan Ranawat at Ranawat Ortho Research foundation, New York. He was trained in primary and complex revision Joint Replacement surgeries of both Hip & Knee at the Lenoxil Hospital, Newyork (USA). Also, Dr Prem Kotian is Trained for Sports Medicine & Arthroscopy in Hospitals for Special Surgery, New York (U.S.A). A specialist in Advanced Trauma both adult & pediatric surgeries. He is trained in limb reconstruction and complex trauma surgeries. He had contributed for chapters in textbooks and published more than 40 scientific papers in esteemed journals of orthopedics.
