This child has an alternate convergent squint (at any given time, one eye turns inwards and the other looks straight).
He underwent squint surgery for the left eye.

This patient was concerned about her droopy brows and eyelids, which hid her eyeliner.
She underwent a bilateral browpexy (eyebrow lift) and upper eyelid blepharoplasty (removal of excess skin from both lids).

Now, she enjoys a refreshed, rejuvenated look—with her eyeliner beautifully visible!

Fleischer Ring- A diagnostic marker in keratoconus

-A yellow-brown ring seen at the base of the cone
-Caused by deposition of hemosiderin
-Best appreciated in cobalt blue light filter

The progressive conical protrusion of the cornea results in high myopia and irregular astigmatism (Picture 2)

Corneal topography plays a crucial role in diagnosis. Picture 3 shows the extreme thinning and steep curvature in the area of the cone in this patient.

This patient underwent a right eye squint surgery to correct her convergent squint.

Out of the Blur, into the Clear!

Limbal Dermoid

This 19-year-old patient underwent limbal dermoid excision with an amniotic membrane graft. The result ?
Astigmatism reduced from +4.50 D to +1.50 D, and visual acuity improved from 6/36 to 6/9 unaided.

Important takeaway: While surgery removes the dermoid, corneal opacity and scarring will remain!
Since the opacity is in the periphery, it doesn’t obscure the vision as much, but does induce some degree of astigmatism
