A Medical Professional by career, an Educationist by interest and a Social Reformer by passion Dr Om Prakash Agarwal in his illustrious career spanning 50 years, has dedicated himself for the upliftment of the youth and the society. Dr Agarwal possesses an inspiring persona and indomitable spirit. He is a man who rose from ‘dust’ and looms tall because of his incessant belief in the power of ‘Karm

As a physician he maintains his daily routine by looking after patients and doing 'sewa', as an educationist who now mentors renowned Institutions like City Vocational Public School, Meerut , NIET Greater Noida and NCR Institute of Medical Sciences, Meerut. In the middle of this hectic academic ventures, Dr Agarwal has managed to take out time and energy to set up the Chandrasen Charitable Hospital in Meerut for the underprivileged strata of society. He is also the founder of Om Imaging and Diagnostic Centre, Meerut in 2005 and Dr Neema’s Diagnostic Centre, Greater Noida in 2011. To fulfill his philanthropic pursuits, Dr Agarwal also runs a ‘Rainbow School’ for underprivileged children in the area. He intends to incorporate such students in the mainstream education and empower them through vocational courses so that they can fend for themselves in a confident way. The tenacity of Dr Agarwal is widely acknowledged: he won’t rest. Due to his untiring vision the NIET is one of the premier Engineering and Management institutes of the National Capital Region (NCR) with a current strength of around 4200 students and more than 300 eminent faculty members. NIET provides a comfortable and academically energetic working environment to its esteemed faculty members, apart from deserved incentives and facilities to them. To its students NIET offers scholarships based on merit and also helps underprivileged students in whatever way it can. He was born in a humble middle class family on October 17, 1942 in Piplikhera, a remote village in western UP. One among seven siblings, he had a very simple upbringing where he attended the village primary school .He had to walk 7 kms one way to reach school in a nearby town from class VII onwards.
