Being able to touch one’s toes is just a part of the Asana practice which in turn is a tiny part in the entire realm of YOGA. Asanas are the physical movements of the body and the word YOGA, is not by any means, an interchangeable substitute.
While being able to touch one’s toes doesn’t necessarily represent advancement in a holistic physical practice, it certainly signifies one’s physiological dexterity.
Go ahead, touch your toes…or don’t! But what you learn about your physical, emotional, spiritual self in the process of moving your body, goes above and beyond mere physical prowess.
