Times have changed but our survival mechanism hasn’t changed much. While scanning potential threats around, brain signifies negative events to positive ones. for example, fear of rejection is one example of a bias towards negativity. In the past, being rejected from your tribe, would reduce your chances of survival significantly. Nowadays, being rejected carries no consequence to your long-term survival. You could be hated by the entire world and still have a job, a roof, and food, and yet your brain is still programmed to perceive rejection as a threat to your survival. This is why rejection can be so painful. while you know most rejections are no big deal, you nevertheless feel the emotional pain. If you listen to your mind, you may create a whole drama around it. You may believe you aren’t worthy of love and dwell on a rejection for days or weeks. while You’re fortunate to have such an effective survival mechanism, it is also your responsibility to separate real threats from imaginary ones. you will experience unnecessary pain and worry that will negatively impact the quality of your life. to overcome this bias towards negativity, you must reprogram your mind.

कुछ ग़लतफ़हमियाँ भी ज़रूरी हैं जीने के लिये. - POSITIVE ILLUSIONS IN PSYCHOLOGY- now that everyone knows the detrimental effects of stress, it has been concluded from researches that a certain number of positive illusions is necessary for mental health and one’s sense of well-being. Illusions such as excessively positive self-image , having a false sense of control , a more optimistic view of future than statistics suggest. A classic example of positive illusions is better-than-the-most effect. People tend to find themselves Warmer, kinder, More sincere, etc., then the average person and these self aggrandising views are correlated with higher achievements. Similar results have been found with young children overestimating their capacities. They develop better language, problem-solving, or motor skills. People affected by serious illness who believe that they are coping better than other patients are found to experience reduced stress. People who are optimistic in this way are more creative and cope better with stressful situations. Positive illusions are both psychologically and biologically adaptive because they do not just make people feel better about themselves, but can improve physical health too, and have evolutionarily relevant benefits. One example is parenting. The better-than-average effect applies not just to oneself but also to one’s romantic partner and seeing ones partner as better than the average partner in intelligence, attractiveness, nature, etc., Is good for the relationship. If the relationship lasts the offspring receives better care and more protection and thus, is likely to survive and flourish. Similarly, people have inflated views of their own children, which makes parents more attached to their children, and more willing to dedicate time and resources to them. The belief that one will be healthy and live longer is no longer unjustified, because it acts as a self-fulfilling prophecy and it becomes true. In the light of their epistemic features, Maybe we could even say that some positive illusions do not really count as departure from reality at all.

As I began to love myself
I found that anguish and emotional suffering
are only warning signs that I was living
against my own truth.
Today, I know, this is Authenticity.

As I began to love myself
I understood how much it can offend somebody
if I try to force my desires on this person,
even though I knew the time was not right
and the person was not ready for it,
and even though this person was me.
Today I call this Respect.

As I began to love myself
I stopped craving for a different life,
and I could see that everything
that surrounded me
was inviting me to grow.
Today I call this Maturity.

As I began to love myself
I understood that at any circumstance,
I am in the right place at the right time,
and everything happens at the exactly right moment.
So I could be calm.
Today I call this Self-Confidence.

As I began to love myself
I quit stealing my own time,
and I stopped designing huge projects
for the future.
Today, I only do what brings me joy and happiness,
things I love to do and that make my heart cheer,
and I do them in my own way
and in my own rhythm.
Today I call this Simplicity.

As I began to love myself
I freed myself of anything
that is no good for my health –
food, people, things, situations,
and everything that drew me down
and away from myself.
At first I called this attitude a healthy egoism.
Today I know it is Love of Oneself.

As I began to love myself
I quit trying to always be right,
and ever since
I was wrong less of the time.
Today I discovered that is Modesty.

As I began to love myself
I refused to go on living in the past
and worrying about the future.
Now, I only live for the moment,
where everything is happening.
Today I live each day,
day by day,
and I call it Fulfillment.

As I began to love myself
I recognized
that my mind can disturb me
and it can make me sick.
But as I connected it to my heart,
my mind became a valuable ally.
Today I call this connection Wisdom of the Heart.

We no longer need to fear arguments,
confrontations or any kind of problems
with ourselves or others.
Even stars collide,
and out of their crashing, new worlds are born.
Today I know: This is Life!

We crave stability. And get bored easily in it. — the great human paradox

You're not Stuck!

You are just committed to certain patterns of behaviour because they helped you in the past. Now those behaviours have become more harmful then helpful. the reason why you cant move forward is because you keep applying an old formula to a new level in your life.

Change the formula to get a different result.
