Koita Centre for Digital Oncology - KCDO National Cancer Grid (NCG) establishes a new centre for digital oncology with support from Koita Foundation.

KCDO helps NCG and NCG affiliated hospitals adopt digital health tools, drive collaboration and create digital transformation roadmaps, with the objective of improving the quality, affordability, accessibility and outcomes of cancer care to patients. The vision of KCDO is closely aligned with NCG’s vision to deliver uniform cancer care, drive cancer research and reduce costs of cancer care across

India. KCDO supports NCG hospitals by sharing best practices in digital health and adopt new technologies – including data & analytics, AI, machine learning, big data, automation, IoT, cloud, mobile apps, consumer devices – which will benefit hospitals, doctors, radiologists, nurses, labs, patients, and consumers. KCDO supports NCG in driving common digital initiatives across NCG hospitals including EMR adoption, healthcare data interoperability, reporting and analytics. KCDO will also partner with academic and research organizations to promote research and development in cancer care. KCDO was established in August 2022 with support from the Koita Foundation, a not-for-profit organization focused on accelerating digital health adoption in India. As part of its digital health initiatives, Koita Foundation partners with many government and NGOs. It has also established the Koita Centre for Digital Health (www.kcdh.iitb.ac.in) at IIT Bombay, that focuses on academic programs, research, and industry collaborations in Digital Health. The Koita Center for Digital Oncology (KCDO) reached an important milestone in its Digital Health journey on the 30th of January 2023. The signing of the MOU between the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals (NABH) and the National Cancer Grid (NCG) for the active cooperation and collaboration on digital health initiatives will bring a paradigm shift in cancer care in the country.

The consortium will work towards knowledge sharing, capacity building, and developing world class Digital Health standards for hospitals to make quality healthcare affordable, accessible, and universal.

National Cancer Grid (NCG - tmc.gov.in/ncg/) and Koita Centre for Digital Oncology (KCDO) (www.kcdo.in) organised a successful Industry Consultation on the 30th of January at TATA Memorial Hospital Parel, Mumbai.

The KCDO team presented its vision- to help NCG and the 300+ NCG member centres leverage Digital Health technologies to meaningfully improve cancer care in India. The team also presented the draft version of the NCG EMR Requirements (NER).

The event was attended by over 40 leading healthcare technology companies (incl. HMIS and EMR vendors), hospital CEOs, and Industry experts from the digital health space and oncology. KCDO looks forward to collaborating with HMIS/EMR vendors and digital health technology companies to drive close engagement with NCG hospitals.

Koita Foundation supports National Cancer Grid (NCG) to establish a New Centre for Digital Oncology

The National Cancer Grid has established the Koita Centre for Digital Oncology (KCDO) to promote use of digital technologies and tools to improve cancer care across India. The centre has been set up with the contributions received from the Koita Foundation, which will support the centre for 5 years.

KCDO will NCG and NCG affiliated hospitals to adopt digital health tools, drive collaboration and create digital transformation roadmaps, with the objective of improving the quality, affordability, accessibility and outcomes of cancer care to patients. The vision of KCDO is closely aligned with NCG’s vision to deliver uniform cancer care, drive cancer research and reduce costs of cancer care across India.
