There is no reason to stop exercising during pregnancy.
If 150 minutes sounds too much right away, start with 10 minutes and slowly build it to 150 minutes.
If you have been exercising prior to becoming pregnant, continue exercising but watch for signs of over exertion like heart rate/pulse rate more than 140 beats. If concerns always call your OB.

There seems to be a lot of pressure on new mothers to "bounce back", return to exercise and fit into prenatal clothes. But it often takes the body a few months just to have postpartum changes start to reverse. And yet we try to push through. We return to "postpartum bootcamps", or feel guilty if we don't. We expect to just pick up our exercise program where we left off, before the nausea, or the back pain made us stop exercising. We are terrified that our abdominals have separated and need to get back to core exercises immediately.

Mama, you can rest. You can bond with baby. You can take short walks. You can do gentle movements. You are allowed to recover. We know that not everyone feels this way. But we encourage you to be mindful of how you recover after delivery, respect your body and know that you have time to return to more intense exercise when your body is ready.

Join us this week as we discuss returning to exercise postpartum. 💛

"Social media can be heartbreaking on Mother's Day for those experiencing grief due to a number of circumstances. Imagine the difference in experience if those who are grieving could use one hashtag to find support, love and acceptance on Mother's Day.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You can show online support for those feeling "blue" through the Blue Mother's Day campaign in two ways:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. Use the hashtag along with loving, supportive content; or with your story to raise awareness.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. Draw a blue 💙 on your hand and post the photo on your social media channels.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Add your voice by participating online this Mother's Day, Sunday, May 9." ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
