1. Are there any physical or health concerns to address?
Vision, fatigue, hearing, seizures, etc. these physical and health concerns can play a huge role in a child's learning potential.

IQ tests, Academic tests, portfolios, teacher observations etc. will give us this accumulation of the the child's overall learning potential.

3. Exactly where are the areas of shortcomings and strengths?
Learning disability evaluation will give you the niche areas as each child has unique challenges and capabilities.

Learning disability evaluation reports should mention the level of the child as compared to the same aged peers and that will help us to understand the level of support that the child requires.

Must Watch for Nurturers of Young Hearts! 🎥

Recently I was recommended to watch ' the Netflix series "Adolescence" it is a gripping and thought-provoking drama that explores the complexities of growing up in today's society. The show delves into the struggles of adolescence, including the impact of social media, trauma, bullying, and the mental health of young people.

The story revolves around a 13-year-old boy named Jamie, who is arrested for the murder of a teenage girl from his school. The series examines the aftermath of this traumatic event on Jamie's family and the community, raising questions about the effects of toxic masculinity, social media addiction, and the pressure to conform to societal norms.

The series highlights topics like male rage, vulnerability, highlighting the dangers of suppressing emotions and the importance of addressing mental health issues. The show also emphasizes the consequences of social media addiction, including the constant need for validation and the blurring of reality and online personas.

Here are some key takeaways for the parents and all other stakeholders (teachers , counselors, gaurdians, etc) who play a key role in the lives of our young generation 🌱

1. Communication is Key🔐: The series highlights the importance of open and honest communication between parents and children. Parents should create a safe and non-judgmental environment where children feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and feelings.

2. Protecting Children from Negative Influences🔞📵🚭: The show emphasizes the need for parents to monitor their children's social media use and protect them from toxic online influences, such as incel culture and misogyny.

3. Fostering Emotional Intelligence 🧠: Adolescence stresses the importance of teaching children emotional intelligence, including skills like empathy, healthy self-image, self-awareness, and self-regulation.

4. Recognizing the Impact of Social Media📵: The series explores how social media can shape children's self-worth, relationships, and worldview. Parents and counselors should be aware of these potential impacts and help children develop healthy social media habits.

Preschoolers need to develop several skills to prepare for handwriting:

👌Fine Motor Skills: Activities like using scissors, playing with small objects, and manipulating small tools help develop hand muscles and coordination.

,👁️✍️Hand-Eye Coordination: Engaging in activities that require hand-eye coordination, such as catching a ball or threading beads, can improve coordination necessary for writing.

✍️Grip Strength: Encouraging activities like squeezing playdough, using clothespins, or playing with toys that require gripping can strengthen hand muscles needed for holding a pencil correctly.

🔵Pre-Writing Shapes and Lines: Practicing drawing basic shapes and lines (e.g., circles, lines, squares) helps develop the motor skills needed for forming letters and numbers.

✏️Pencil Control: Activities like tracing lines, shapes, and mazes can help preschoolers gain control over their pencil movements.

✍️Hand Dominance: Most children establish hand dominance by age 4 or 5, which is important for consistent handwriting.

Encouraging these skills through play-based activities can support preschoolers in developing the foundation necessary for handwriting.

Workshop on Cyber Safety was conducted by us. Students require our guidance on sensitive topics such as cyber etiquettes, harmful impacts of watching po*******hy, etc.

It was an insightful session where we as therapists also got to learn a lot from the students.

I feel extremely happy to share that my 10th grade student completed his home work and came specially to show me, that's okay all students do that isn't it?

But, what's special here is that this student asked for a smiley and star as an appreciation from me!!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Today, I realised even grown up students require acknowledgement for their efforts from their teacher. They somewhere get so demotivated from the negative comments or negative markings that they don't feel like doing school homework or classwork.

Let's bring this change let's assign tasks and homeworks to students that are achievable by them.

Its okay to ask them to decide the submission date that helps them understand that the onus lies on them to complete the work.

Kindly share your views, tips and insights...
