MAA SIIDDHIIDATRI DEVI
Goddess of Supernatural Powers or Siddhhis.

AVATAAR - Durga in her stage of reaching her highest and supreme form as MahaShakti.
Each of her four hands carried a discus, a conch shell, a pink lotus and a mace. She is seated upon a fully bloomed lotus.

She presents the woman who empowers those around her.

VAHANA - Lotus

BEEJ MANTRA - of Maa Siddhidatri : Hreem Kleem Aim Siddhaye Namah

BHOG OFFERINGs - offer til ka bhog. she is the goddess of all siddhis.
note – this bhog is later on offered to nearby Devi ma temple or given to any small girl (kanjak) or offered to any brahmin who conducts pooja service at your home. last option is to eat the bhog with devotion.

COLOUR of the day - Purple: It symbolises spirituality and wisdom. It represents the culmination of the festival, embodying the divine knowledge and the blessings of the Goddess.

MAA MAHAGAURI DEVI
Goddess of Beauty and Women

AVATAAR - Durga in her form of recovery - She has 4 hands , three of which carried a trident , a mini drum and a pink lotus; while her one hand is raised to her devotees offering them protection. She is seated on a white ox.

Goddess Mahagauri represents the woman who has graduated to become an Inspiration to others, after going through all the beats of life. She represents uplifting other women and the whole society with her.

VAHANA - White Ox.

BEEJ MANTRA - of Maa Mahagauri : Shree Kleem Hreem Varadaayi Namah

BHOG OFFERINGs - offer mature coconut as bhog. It removes sorrow from your life and gives you success. Childless couples are blessed with children.

COLOUR of the day - Pink: represents love, compassion, and nurturing. It embodies the tender and caring aspects of the Goddess, emphasising kindness and empathy.

MAA KAALRATRI DEVI
Goddess of Auspiciousness and Courage

AVATAAR - Durga in her form of destruction - She has three eyes, unkempt hairs and wears a garland of skulls around her neck, which shone like lightning. Her four hands all held a trident, scimitar, vajra and a cup. She is seated upon the behind a donkey as her vehicle.

She represents the stage where a woman breaks all societal norms, embracing all positive and negative within her.

VAHANA - Donkey

BEEJ MANTRA - of Maa Kaalratri : Kleem Aim Shree Kalikayai Namah

BHOG OFFERINGs - offer jaggery or gur ka bhog. It is said to remove all sorrows and evil from your life as well as protects you from sudden calamity.

COLOUR of the day - Blue: Goddess Kalratri is for day seven. Blue symbolises calmness and tranquility. It represents the protective nature of the Goddess, shielding devotees from negativity and harm.

MAA KATAYAYANI DEVI
Goddess of Power

AVATAAR - Durga in her warrior stage - She is adorned with ehavy ornaments on her limbs and is dressed in green and pink vestments. Her four hands each carried a sword, a shield, a lotus and a trident. She is seen seated on a ferocious lion.

She is the slayer of Mahishasura representing the external and internal fights of a woman with patriarchy, societal norms and all her personal lower emotions.

VAHANA - Lion

BEEJ MANTRA - Beej Mantra of Maa Skandamata : Kleem Shree Trinetrayai Namah

BHOG OFFERINGs - offer offer honey to get blessings of good finances. You can also make a donation to a pandit on this day. this increases health and beauty.

COLOUR of the day - Red: is known to represent power, passion, and strength. It signifies the fierce and protective aspects of the Goddess, embodying courage and determination.

Goddess of motherhood and Children
Mother of twins

AVATAAR - Durga in her stage of motherhood - She has 4 hands , 2 of them hold lotuses, the third holding a son , and the 6 headed Karthikeya is seated on her lap and the fourth hand saves her devotees. She is seated on the back of a lion.

She represents the woman who has become a mother.

VAHANA - Lion

BEEJ MANTRA - Beej Mantra of Maa Skandamata : Hreem Kleem Swaminyai Namah

BHOG OFFERINGs - offer banana to bring peace in the family.

COLOUR of the day - White: symbolises purity, peace, and serenity. It represents clarity of thought and the importance of spiritual growth and enlightenment.

She represents the woman who is ready to become a mother.

VAHANA - Lion

AVATAAR - Durga in the form of Shakti - She has 10 hands , nine of them are armed by a trident , mace bow, arrow, lotus, sword , bell and a water pot , while one hand blesses all her devotees.
She is shown to be seated on a fierce tiger.

She represents the married woman and is shown to share the crescent moon (chandra-ghanta) of husband

BEEJ MANTRA - Beej Mantra of Maa Chadraghanta :
Ain Shreem Shaktayei Namah

BHOG OFFERINGs - offer milk or you can offer sweets or kheer. It is said to bring relief from pain and misery. After offering milk to Maa, you can donate it to brahmins.

My mind is on Goddess Durga and the 9 glorious days of Navratri pooja that begin today / tonight .

My mind is on the 9 avataars of the Goddess that will be worshipped for 9 days and nights.

My mind is on the 9 rasas of a common woman who is forgotten all year round.

My mind is on the 9 characteristics of a woman's personality that she goes through in her whole life.

My mind is on more avataars and archetypes and personalities that a woman would like to live but could not due to various reasons.

My mind is on WHAT DID I MISS LIVING IN LIFE AND HOW I CAN LIVE IT ALL with the grace and mercy of the Divine Feminine Goddess who had descended upon us and into our lives today.

My mind is on - "WILL THE WORLD RESPECT WOMEN AFTER THESE 9 DAYS ARE OVER or will it be the same old , same old b*s* that's been going on for centuries ?"

And my heart and my gut feeling tells me that - it is upto us women to find that missing spark of womanhood and live it in all, in its full glory. Afterall charity begins at home, right ? And so does self love and self respect.
