Delicious Urad Dal ki Chainsoo.
I had this pahadi delicacy in my recent trip to Rishikesh.
This traditional Indian delicacy can be eaten with rice or roti and its extremely healthy..!!!!!!!!!
Totally plant based in nature but some people add ghee on top to relish it.

Here’s the recipe:
Uttarakhand Style Black Gram Chainsoo Recipe
1. Heat a kadhai and dry roast the dal for few minutes until you get a nice aroma. Set aside.
2. Once it is cooled down, grind the dry mixture to a fine powder. Heat a heavy bottomed kadhai with oil, temper with whole red chillies and pepper corns.
3. Add all the masalas: coriander powder, cumin powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt with little water and fry for a minute. Add the powdered dal, stir well and then add water.
4. Cook on low to medium flame until thickens for 20-30 minutes.
5. Post that, serve Uttarakhand Style Black Gram Chainsoo along with rice or roti (Along with green CHAINS, I have added aloo-tamatar saag)
