When women learn something, especially about taking care of our health we share and share and share so all women we know also know what to do! Women are the best community makers and nurturers and make the best leaders. Women lift each other while rising ourselves. Women dont need anyone behind us but want everyone with us side by side to break glass ceilings and climb glass hills. So many talented, inspiring and generous people from not just health sector but across industries came together to teach, learn, share and shine.
As Chair of CII IWN Maharashtra it was humbling that we go all yays by our Speakers. So much support from our CII team and sponsors made this day possible. We had a great audience, most of whom stayed right till the end and their effervescent energy was what made the entire effort so rewarding. We know these leaders will impact those others around them for healthier and happier women and society.
Women's Health can no longer remain a footnote!

How time flew talking to these young minds! These students of were a fun, attentive, responsive, interactive bunch and an hour session on Mental Health and Psychiatry turned to two, and only the risk of lunch being missed made us finally leave.
It was lovely to interact with their mentors and the CEO.
Plans are being made to soon begin a bimonthly, professional lead, peer support group to eqip them with life skills and sucess tools on their journey.

The Impetus!
Last decade has seen an increasing number of women psychiatrists in J&K and they are here making their marks on the mental health landscape. I was so impressed with their talent, enthusiasm and was very proud of them that they assembled together for an evening focused on growth.
We swaped stories, laughed and loved.
We took home lessons and memories.
We reaffirmed our commitment to ourselves and our work.
Cant wait to see where these bright women will lead us all!

Was honoured and happy to be speaking at the 50th annual conference of East Zone of IPS at Kolkata end of October
It was a flying visit, just for a day, but enough to soak up some academics, participate in discussions, hang out with friends, meet new young colleagues, and of course eat delicious food! Missed shopping this time but should keep unrequited to get an excuse to visit again.
I've always enjoyed Kolkata

"Use of abrasive and abusive language impacting attitudes and mental health" was very glad I could present this talk at Agra at UPIPS annual conference on Sunday
Globally, languages are constructed to support patriarchy but insults and cuss words are particularly damaging as most incite violence against women and propogates r**e culture. Verbal abuse causes long lasting socialand psychological damages. But across genders it also impacts cognition on multiple levels leading to low functioning
Our words, shape our worlds
Our words, wound
