Doctor, kya mujhe BP ki dawa zindagibhar leni padegi? What about the side effects?"
The most frequently asked questions when a patient is diagnosed with high BP or . In this video, I'll shed some light on this very common concern
1. This is not something that can be predicted on diagnosis
2. It depends on the comorbidities, weight, habits, genetics and lifestyle on diagnosis and in future
3. No BP medicine has side effects on your body as high BP itself does
4. Don't fall for myths like rock salt will reduce your BP. No detox or cleanse will cure your hypertension.
5. Do not go for completely salt free diet on random advices. This can be fatal.

16th May is National Dengue Day. Dengue has been a year after year ongoing challenge in our metro cities which are perpetually under construction as well as in small towns and villages. Though most cases are self remitting with supportive care, Dengue cases still take up a big chunk of hospitalised as well as ICU patients and overwhelm the blood banks with often unindicated platelet transfusions. Here's a short video on what basic steps everyone can safely follow to manage fevers at home for the first 24-48 hours
Do's:
1. Take complete rest
2. Focus on good nutrition
3. Hydrate well
4. Seek medical help on time
Don'ts:
1. Avoid strong medicines like ibuprofen/diclofenac without medical advice
2. Don't stop ongoing medications for comorbidities like diabetes/hypertension without asking the doctor
3. Don't start over the counter antibiotics without medical advice and appropriate tests
4. Don't overheat fever patients with multiple blankets

4. One meal of the day has to be together for a family, away from screens. Talk your hearts out, crack jokes, make decisions together
