🪷 Grief 101:
16th April '25 marked 3 yrs for my amma.
This year was a bit different. It was still difficult yes, but it was surreal too cause this time, we made sure to re-live her happy times more than her absence.
The day started with our yearly ritual of अन्नदान (food donation) at our राजा बाक्शा temple (we do that both on her birthday and passing anniversary every year).
5 of us then went to the jungle for the day cause it was mumma's favorite place to be. I remembered how she'd compel us from our "busy" schedules each time on her birthday for a jungle safari, her excitement never fading I must add!
It was a very hot summer day and we were dreading the safari we had planned for the noon, but almost as if mumma wanted us to enjoy it too, just 30min before our safari, it started getting cloudy and windy and then, it rained!
I knew it in my heart that she was around ♥️
Fortunately there was no network connection and 5 of us together away from material distractions was the best time we could have spent together after so long! We shared our favorite stories of her, laughed at her quirks and ate her favorite foods. 🧿
Moral of the story : Sometimes, it really takes feeling happiness & gratitude to cherish the life lived rather than the sorrow for what was lost. 🌈
