That tiny hammer tap near the ankle?
It’s not random — it’s actually checking how well your nerves and spinal cord are communicating. 🧠⚡

The moment the tendon is tapped, your foot moves automatically without you even trying.

That quick movement is called the ankle reflex — and it helps doctors understand if the nerve signals from your spine are working properly.

💡 If the reflex is weak, slow, or missing, it can sometimes hint at nerve irritation or compression. ⚠️

A small tap… but it can reveal a lot about your nervous system. 🩺

Many people believe that lifting heavy weights damages the spine.🚨

As an Endoscopic Neurosurgeon, I hear this concern from many patients. But the truth is — it’s not the weight that harms your spine, it’s the way you lift it.

Here are a few important things to remember:
⚠️ Technique matters more than the weight — poor form can put unnecessary stress on the spine.
⚠️ Engage your core while lifting to support your lower back.
⚠️ Avoid sudden jerks or twisting movements with heavy loads.
⚠️ Lift with your legs, not your back.
⚠️ Gradually increase weight instead of lifting beyond your capacity.

When done correctly, strength training can actually help build stronger muscles that support and protect your spine. Your spine is built to handle movement and load — but only when you use the right technique.

Endoscopic brain and spine surgery is a highly specialized field, and not every claim you see reflects real expertise.

✅Take the time to do your research.
✅Verify facts.
✅Ask for clarity.

Understand the surgeon’s experience, the hospital setup, the support system available, and most importantly, real patient outcomes.

Because when it comes to your brain and spine, assumptions are never an option. ⚠️

In today’s world of amplified marketing and half-knowledge, informed decisions are your strongest safeguard. 🛡️

At the end of the day, health is not a trend.
It is your greatest asset — and it deserves truth, transparency, and experience.

📝Save this post. Share it with someone who might need it.

🗣️ If your spine could talk… here’s what it would say:

1️⃣ Slouchy Chairs → “Stop bending me!”
Sitting hunched increases pressure on your discs → weak muscles & early wear.

2️⃣ Sitting Too Long → “Move me!”
Discs need movement to get nutrients. Long hours still → tight hips & lazy stabilizers.

3️⃣ Lifting Wrong → “Ouch, too much!”
Rounding your back overloads discs & ligaments. Even light stuff can hurt if posture is wrong.

4️⃣ Soft Beds → “I’m sagging!”
Too soft = spine bends unnaturally → stiff muscles & joints in the morning.

5️⃣ Ignoring Pain → “Help me now!”
Mild pain is your first warning. Ignoring it = long-term problems spreading to hips, pelvis, upper back.

Simple Spine Care Tips:
✅ Fix your posture: Sit and stand straight, keep shoulders and lower back aligned.

✅ Strengthen your core: Do simple exercises to make your belly and back muscles strong.

✅ Keep moving: Stretch your upper back, hips, and legs; gentle nerve stretches if needed.

✅ Gentle therapy: Massage or joint exercises to relax tight muscles and joints.

✅ Functional exercises: Practice bending safely, activate your glutes, and avoid twisting or rounding your back.

✅ Ergonomics: Adjust chair, back support, screen height, and take short breaks often.

✅ Sleep well: Use a mattress that keeps your spine straight and supported.

✨ Take care of your spine—it’s the only one you’ve got!

As a doctor, I’ve always believed that the most powerful stories are not told by us… but by our patients🤍

When he first came to my OPD, walking was difficult. Every step looked painful. There was fear in his eyes, and so many unanswered questions in his mind.

Today, watching him walk back in with steady, confident steps… that’s the part that stays with me.

Yes, endoscopic spine surgery is advanced. It’s minimally invasive. It’s precise.

But beyond the technology and the OT lights, it’s about something much bigger — trust.

Trust that when life suddenly feels uncertain, you are in safe hands.

Trust that someone is doing everything possible to help you stand tall again.

This isn’t just a “before and after.”
It’s a person getting his independence back.
It’s a family finally breathing easy.
It’s confidence slowly returning with every step.

I don’t take that lightly.

Every surgery I perform carries someone’s hope, someone’s fear, someone’s future. And moments like these quietly remind me why I chose this field.

Real patient. Real journey. Real recovery.

And I remain grateful — always — for the trust my patients place in me. 🧠✨

As an endoscopic spine surgeon, let me tell you something honestly — most spine injuries I see are not from accidents… they’re from incorrect workouts💪🏻

The gym itself is not dangerous.
But this is 👇

❌ Lifting heavier than your capacity
❌ Poor form during squats & deadlifts
❌ Rounding your back while lifting
❌ Sudden twisting with weight
❌ Skipping warm-up
❌ Copying advanced workouts from reels

Your spine is made of small bones (vertebrae) with soft cushions in between called discs.
When you lift incorrectly, excessive pressure goes on these discs.

Over time this can lead to:
* Disc bulge
* Slip disc
* Sciatica (shooting leg pain)
* Nerve compression
* Chronic back pain

🥵And the scary part?
- It doesn’t always happen in one day.
- It builds slowly… rep after rep… ego lift after ego lift.

Exercise should strengthen your spine — but only when technique is correct and muscles are supporting it properly.

✅Remember:
Form > Weight
Control > Speed
Consistency > Ego

Your spine is not a muscle you can just “grow back.”
Train smart today, so you don’t meet me in the OT tomorrow. 💀💪

Save this before your next workout.
