The old saying, “Anything in excess is always harmful” is true in case of food too. Pick a right food in a right amount in your plate and avoid overloading yourself with bunch of unwanted calories.
Food is generally divided into 6 groups that fulfill a daily nutritional requirement of a person. All you need is to know the amount of food from each group you need to get adequate nutrition.
So, your meal is complete when your plate is filled with,
Fiber rich carbohydrates – 1/4th of plate
Protein rich food – 1/4th of plate
Fruits and vegetables – Half of plate
Oil – In a limited quantity
