Ever had someone say, “Can we talk?”
And your heart just DROPS - like you’ve already done something wrong?
Sure, this can happen to anyone.
But ADHD (/Autistic) brains especially struggle with this.
Because a very high percentage of people suffering with ADHD have symptoms of what's called -
Rejection sensitivity dysphoria
In easy words,
ADHD brains are constantly scanning for rejection and they are often sensitive to subtleties that the neurotypical brain might ignore.
Your nervous system has learned to be on high alert -
especially when connection feels at stake.
And when you're neurodivergent,
relationships already feel like walking on a tightrope.
But here’s what I want you to hold on to:
Even though we might laugh about it later,
RSD is deeply painful to experience.
Still, there are workarounds.
You can learn to manage it.
To self-soothe.
To find safety in connection again.

you’re not too much.
You’re just carrying too much alone.
