From Fat to Failure: 4 Stages of Fatty Liver You Must Know

1️⃣ Simple Fatty Liver (Steatosis)
Fat starts building up in liver cells — usually due to obesity, poor diet, or alcohol. It’s an early, reversible stage if lifestyle changes are made in time.

2️⃣ NASH (Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis)
The liver becomes inflamed and damaged. Fat accumulation now causes cell injury and swelling, increasing the risk of scarring.

3️⃣ Fibrosis
Scar tissue begins to form around damaged areas. The liver still functions, but its performance slowly declines. Regular monitoring is vital at this stage.

4️⃣ Cirrhosis
Extensive scarring replaces healthy liver tissue. The liver hardens and fails to function properly — leading to liver failure or even cancer.

Myths v/s Facts About Heart Transplant

Heart transplants are surrounded by myths that can confuse patients. Many believe only very sick or elderly patients are eligible, but in reality, doctors carefully evaluate each patient regardless of age. Some think life after a transplant is extremely restricted, yet most patients can enjoy normal activities with proper care. Others worry that transplants don’t last long, but with regular follow-ups and medications, patients can live 10–20 years or more.
