Sitting is the new smoking.β
It sounds powerful.
But itβs not scientifically accurate.
Smoking introduces toxins and causes direct vascular and cellular damage.
Sitting becomes harmful when it replaces movement.
The real issue is sustained metabolic inactivity.
From a spine perspective: Long static posture increases stress. Weak muscles amplify it. No movement makes it worse.
But sitting + strength training + daily walking? Very different outcome.
The solution isnβt fear. Itβs structured movement.
