Mothers are worried of lot of things when it comes to their child.
Today Dr Jalil S. Mujawar is talking about hair in potty.

Why do children put their fingers in their ears? Parents often worry, but the reasons are usually simple. Many times, it is just normal curiosity or a self-soothing habit. Babies and toddlers explore their bodies as they grow.

Another common reason is teething. The nerves of the gums and ears are closely connected, so teething discomfort can make a child pull or insert fingers into the ears.

Sometimes, it may be due to ear wax buildup, which can cause blockage, irritation, or a feeling of fullness.

However, persistent ear pulling with fever, cold, irritability, or disturbed sleep may suggest an ear infection, which needs medical evaluation.

If you notice repeated symptoms or signs of pain, do not ignore them.

Rabies Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) Vaccine

Did you know rabies vaccination can be taken even before a bite happens?
This is called Rabies Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP).

PrEP is recommended for high-risk children and adults, such as:
✔️ Children with frequent exposure to animals
✔️ Pet owners
✔️ Veterinary staff
✔️ Animal handlers and travelers to high-risk areas

Pre-exposure vaccination does not replace treatment after a bite, but it simplifies post-bite management and offers an added layer of protection.

PrEP consists of a scheduled series of rabies vaccine doses given under medical guidance. It is safe, effective, and strongly recommended in high-risk settings.

Prevention is always better than panic.

🩺 Talk to your pediatrician about rabies PrEP.

💧 “Skin Care in Children During Winter”

🧴✨Skin Care in Children During Winter

Winter brings cozy sweaters — but also dry, itchy, and sensitive skin for many children ❄️👶

Here’s how you can protect your child’s delicate skin this season 👇

🌿 1️⃣ Gentle Bathing:
Use lukewarm water, not hot. Long hot baths strip natural oils and worsen dryness. Limit bath time to 5–10 minutes.

🫧 2️⃣ Mild Cleansers Only:
Avoid harsh soaps. Use fragrance-free, pH-balanced baby cleansers or syndet bars.

💧 3️⃣ Moisturize Immediately:
Apply a gentle moisturizer or emollient within 3 minutes of bathing — this locks in moisture. Choose creams or ointments over lotions (they hydrate better in dry weather).

👕 4️⃣ Soft Cotton Clothing:
Layer cotton beneath wool or synthetic clothes to avoid irritation and sweating.

🏠 5️⃣ Keep Indoor Air Comfortable:
Use a humidifier if the air is too dry. Avoid sitting too close to heaters or blowers.

🚫 6️⃣ Avoid Overuse of Powders and Perfumed Creams:
These can worsen dryness and allergies.

🩺 When to See a Pediatrician:
If your child has red, itchy patches, cracks, or oozing skin, it may be eczema — get it checked early.

💙 A few small steps daily keep your child’s skin soft, healthy, and rash-free all winter!

💙 7 Things That Can Prevent Pneumonia in Children

Pneumonia remains one of the leading causes of illness and death in children — but the good news is, it’s largely preventable!
Here’s how parents can protect their child 👇
🛡️ 1️⃣ Complete Immunization

Vaccines are the strongest protection.
💉 Pneumococcal (PCV), Hib, Influenza, Pertussis (DTP), Measles (MMR), Varicella, and COVID-19 (for eligible ages) — all reduce pneumonia risk directly or indirectly.
✅ Follow the immunization schedule on time.

🍎 2️⃣ Good Nutrition
   •   Exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months builds strong immunity.
   •   Continue breastfeeding with balanced, iron- and protein-rich complementary foods.
   •   Prevent malnutrition, which weakens lung defense.

🧼 3️⃣ Hygiene & Infection Control
   •   Keep sick contacts away.
   •   Avoid sharing utensils, bottles, or towels.
   •   Cover mouth and nose while coughing or sneezing.

🚭 4️⃣ Avoid Smoke & Air Pollution
   •   Keep children away from to***co smoke, chulha/woodfire, and traffic pollution.
   •   Clean, fresh air keeps lungs strong.

🏠 5️⃣ Clean, Well-Ventilated Home
   •   Avoid overcrowding.
   •   Ensure good airflow and moderate humidity indoors.

🩺 6️⃣ Early Medical Attention

If your child has fast breathing, chest indrawing, fever, poor feeding, or lethargy, seek medical help immediately — early treatment saves lives.

✋ 7️⃣ Regular Hand Washing

Handwashing with soap and water is a simple but powerful defense!
It removes germs that spread through touch, cough, and contaminated surfaces — preventing respiratory and diarrheal infections

💙 Remember:

“Vaccinate, nourish, clean, and care — every step protects your child’s lungs.”
