Causes:
Hormonal Changes: Increased release of growth hormone, cortisol, and adrenaline.
Increased Liver Glucose Production: Enhanced gluconeogenesis.
Insulin Resistance: Reduced insulin sensitivity in the early morning.
Management Strategies:
Adjust Medication: Modify timing or dosage of insulin or oral medications.
Dietary Adjustments: Consider a low-carbohydrate bedtime snack.
Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM): Track and adjust treatment based on glucose patterns.

Somogyi Effect
Definition: Rebound hyperglycemia following an undetected nighttime hypoglycemic episode, typically caused by excessive insulin or inadequate food intake before bed.
Causes:Excessive Evening Insulin: Too much basal insulin or long-acting insulin.
Inadequate Evening Carbohydrate Intake:
Skipping or having too little food before bed.
Counter-Regulatory Hormone Release: Body responds to low blood sugar by releasing hormones like glucagon and adrenaline.
