Surya Mantra (Gayatri Mantra of Surya)
ॐ भास्कराय विद्महे महातेजाय धीमहि तन्नो आदित्यः प्रचोदयात्॥
Om Bhāskarāya Vidmahe Mahātejāya Dhīmahi
Tanno Ādityaḥ Prachodayāt॥
Meaning:
We meditate on Bhaskara (the giver of light), who is full of great radiance. May the Sun God (Aditya) inspire and enlighten our intellect.
You can also chant the more common Aditya Hridayam Stotra or shorter mantras like:
ॐ सूर्याय नमः।
Om Sūryāya Namah — Salutations to Surya, the Sun God.
ॐ ह्रीं ह्रौं सूर्याय नमः।
(Om Hrīm Hraum Sūryāya Namah) — A powerful bija mantra for energy and healing.
