Big Strides for Physiotherapy in Bihar! ๐Ÿ™Œ

On 17th May 2025, a delegation from the Indian Association of Physiotherapists โ€“ Bihar Chapter met the Honโ€™ble Health Minister of Bihar, Shri Mangal Pandey, to express sincere gratitude and discuss the future of physiotherapy in the state.
We thank the Government of Bihar and the Health Department for their visionary steps:
โœ… Extending the Physiotherapy course to 5 years, aligning with national standards
โœ… Approving a nationally integrated curriculum through the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professionals (NCAHP)
โœ… Creating 784 new positions in the Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy cadre โ€“ a historic move that boosts both healthcare services and employment in Bihar!
To ensure the effective rollout of these reforms, we humbly request the expedited operationalization of the Bihar State Allied and Healthcare Council. This includes:

๐Ÿ”น Appointing the Councilโ€™s Chairperson and members
๐Ÿ”น Enabling registration, regulation, and training processes for allied healthcare professionals
These steps are essential to uphold the dignity of the physiotherapy profession and ensure better healthcare access for the people of Bihar.
๐Ÿ™ We remain hopeful and grateful for the continued support of the state government in strengthening the allied health sector.
