Today, Dr Rajiv Bahl, Secretary, DHR & Director General, ICMR, addressed the DHR-ICMR family to mark the beginning of the New Year and share four guiding messages for the year ahead. He began by extending warm wishes for health, peace, prosperity, and happiness to all staff members and their families, underscoring that personal well-being and inner happiness are the foundation of balance, resilience, and fulfilment in both personal and professional life.
Turning to professional growth, Dr Bahl encouraged continuous learning, discovery, and purpose in our work, expressing hope that the year ahead brings satisfaction, progress, and a deeper sense of contribution for every member of the organisation. He reminded everyone that growth is not only individual but collective, strengthened by curiosity, commitment, and excellence.
Emphasising ICMR’s organisational ethos, he highlighted that meaningful impact is achieved through collaboration. Scientific advancement, innovation, technology development, and programme implementation succeed when scientists, technical experts, administrative, finance, and support teams work together across institutions and disciplines. The trust and goodwill earned by ICMR, he noted, reflect the collective efforts of the entire ICMR family.
Concluding with a reminder of national responsibility, Dr Bahl quoted from the Ramayana, “जननी जन्मभूमिश्च स्वर्गादपि गरीयसी”, reaffirming that service to the nation is a shared duty. He emphasised that the work carried out at ICMR directly contributes to building a Viksit Bharat. When individuals act with determination and shared purpose, meaningful transformation follows—strengthening institutions and the nation alike.
Sashakt Bharat, Sashakt ICMR.
