*PCOS Awareness Program for Female Teachers – Govt. BHSS Shopian*

A PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) Awareness Program was conducted today at Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School Shopian (Shopian Zone) by the District AYUSH Office Shopian under the supervision of District Nodal Officer Ayush Shopian *Dr Javaid Ahmad Wani* ,aimed at sensitizing female teaching staff about PCOS – its causes, symptoms, prevention, and management.
The session was led by Dr. Saima Mohiuddin, Medical Officer AYUSH, who delivered an informative and engaging lecture on the condition. She emphasized the importance of early diagnosis, lifestyle modifications, and regular health check-ups. The session covered various aspects of PCOS, including hormonal imbalance, menstrual irregularities, and its long-term health implications.
Following this, Dr. Gh. Nabi Wani, Medical Officer AYUSH, delivered an insightful lecture focusing on the importance of diet and lifestyle modification in managing PCOS. He elaborated on how dietary choices, such as reducing processed foods, incorporating fiber-rich meals, and maintaining regular eating habits, can significantly help in controlling symptoms and preventing long-term complications. He also highlighted the role of physical activity and stress management.
During the program NCD screening and JK Sehat Application registrations were also done at the venue.

The session was led by Dr. Saima Mohiuddin, Medical Officer AYUSH, who delivered an informative and engaging lecture on the condition. As a continuous process of medical outreach of District Ayush Shopian, today on 4/7/25 an outreach medical aid camp was organised by Ayush Unit DH Shopian at Sofanaman Shopian under the kind directions of respected Director Ayush J&k Srinagar and under the supervision of DNO Ayush Shopian. More than 130 patients were given medicines for various types of ailments. Monitoring of sugar and haemoglobin was done for the needy persons.

A successful collaboration between AWHC Heerpora and AWHC Sedow led to a one-day free Ayush medical outreach camp at Mirzapur Sedow.

Under the directions of the District Commissioner Shopian and the able leadership of the Director Ayush .Dr. Nuzhat Bashir Shah, and with the kind guidance of Dr. Javid Ahmad Wani (DNO Ayush Shopian), a free medical camp was organized at Pahlipora, Shopian under the "Dharti Abha" initiative focused on Poshan Vatika. The camp was conducted by Dr. Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, along with MPW Abid Nazir, FMPHW Gazala Yousuf, and FMPHW Akhtera Jan. During the camp, free medicines were distributed, and awareness was provided on lifestyle-related disorders. A total of 76 patients attended the camp and benefited from the services.

*Celebration of 11th International Day of Yoga – 2025 District Shopian*

The 11th International Day of Yoga – 2025 was celebrated with great enthusiasm across District Shopian under the overall guidance of Dr. Javaid Ahmad Wani, District Nodal Officer Ayush, Shopian.
The main event was organized at the Mini Secretariat Shopian, which was graced by the esteemed presence of Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Mr. Shishir Gupta (IAS), along with Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Additional Deputy Commissioner, and other officers and officials from various departments.
The yoga session at the main venue was led by Mr. Waseem Gulzar, Yoga Instructor Ayush Shopian, under the supervision of Dr. Gh. Jeelani (Medical Officer / Nodal Officer Yoga Shopian).
In addition to the central function, Yoga sessions were conducted in various schools and institutions across the district by the dedicated teams of Ayush Arogya Mandirs (AAMs). These included:

On 19th June 2025, Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Malik, Medical Officer at Ayush Health & Wellness Centre (AHWC), Reshnagri, conducted a special session at Government High School Reshnagri, Shopian. The session was organized to prepare the students for the upcoming International Day of Yoga, which will be observed on 21st June 2025. During the session, Dr. Malik highlighted the importance of yoga in maintaining physical and mental well-being. He guided the students through various yoga postures and breathing exercises, emphasizing their long-term health benefits. Under the directions of Director AYUSH, Dr. Nuzhat Bashir Shah, and under the kind guidance of District Nodal Officer AYUSH Shopian, Dr. Javid Ahmad Wani Sahab, a free medical and awareness camp was successfully conducted for the tribal Gujjar community at Adabal, Reshinagri. The camp was conducted d by Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Malik, Medical Officer at AWHC Reshinagri, and MPW Abid Nazir, in collaboration with Dr. Mohd Amin Sofi, Medical Officer at AWHC Kaprin. During the camp, free medicines were distributed among the tribal population, and awareness was provided on lifestyle disorders and the importance of cleanliness and hygiene. A total of 152 beneficiaries attended and availed themselves of the services during the camp.
