The problem of avoidable blindness is rapidly escalating and have remained a major cause of concern in the India’s healthcare scenario especially in North Bengal. In a developing country the government alone cannot meet demands of the masses.
Realizing this dearth need few socially conscious members of Lions Club of Siliguri Greater laid the foundation of a State-of-Art Eye Care Hospital and Training Institute bridging this gap in availing services and making eye care in reach of the people of North Bengal, North East, accessible equally from Eastern Nepal, Bangladesh and Bhutan.
Siliguri Greater Lions Eye Hospital was born in 1981 catering holistic eye care services since 35 years. The hospital is successfully continuing the journey reaching to more than 2,50,000 individuals every year through the Hospital, Vision Centres, Outreach activities and training.
In partnership with the Government and notable civil societies Greater Lions have roared loud in restoring eyesight to them struggling for better vision avoiding blindness. We are proud to have become the most trusted and largest Eye Care service provider in North Bengal.
